( INVESTIGATION - WEEK 4 )

Promptly at 7:59 AM, all residents will wake up as if it was any other morning. There's the usual hum from the air conditioner units and the sound of harsh wind blowing against the windows. While the sun may not have ever set, there's no reason to doubt it's time to get up and greet the brand new day. Despite the usual cold clinging to the residents' skin, it seems like any other Friday morning. Or, at least, it does — until it suddenly isn't. A large, deafening explosion will rock the motel seconds before 8:00 AM, drowning out the sound of the grandfather clocks and threatening to break the building in half. Those on the motel's west wing will feel the tremors with greater strength, their ears ringing from the volume of the explosion, and just when the walls and ceilings begin to crack... A translucent shimmer coats every room from top to bottom, almost like a shield to keep the structure from falling apart. Now, it's time to see what surprises lay in wait for the survivors. [As if the explosion wasn't alarming enough, the occupants of Room 102 are getting an additional surprise. Namely, one of the beds in their room is completely empty. It has been stripped entirely, pillows and sheets stolen, leaving only the mattress behind.]

[Apparently? The Kitchen.

By which we mean that Jay is going to be blasted with heat and smoke the moment he steps into the Dining Hall, fire and debris everywhere. The wall and door adjacent to the Kitchen has been blown out, with the Dining Hall taking damage from the explosion. The closer he gets, the more difficult it will become to breathe.

The kitchen is fucking dead.]

Disposal Room

[Look he just wants to make sure nothing freaky happened in here again.]

[ Careful with your footing (HAHAHAHA) Jake, because if he takes a step inside, he may notice that half of the disposal room is gone. Medical equipment dangle on the medical table that teeters down to the first floor. Jake can not enter safely, but he can see some of the medical freezers have been destroyed and now rest in the west side of the parking lot. ]

First thing he will notice is one of the chairs near the entrance has been upended, surrounded by splinters of wood and carelessly left there. One of the legs is missing, looking like it was roughly hacked off. Super rude. The true victims of this week are all the nice furniture. :/

But also — there's a corpse in the room, near the door leading to the east hallway. Huh.]

[ The first thing Akane sees is someone taking a nap in the outdoor dining area! Their body is slumped over carefully onto the table. ]

LET'S TALK ABOUT BREAK (THE HOTEL) WEEK

[well, this was fun! since the lobby is an utter freakin' mess right now, Kaito tries to call everyone's attention from the stairwell. he's rubbing his injured shoulder, wincing as he does so because the faceless men totally mugged him for some evidence :(]

Kaiba's dead. We found his body in the lobby area. Akane also found Ryou's body outside.

. . . is there anyone else?

But when myself and Andersen checked in the clinic, there were sleeping pills missing.

KITCHEN POST-INVESTIGATION

[ late to the party like always, Akira has since been made aware of who all has been found dead by Kaito and Mabel's unfortunate announcements. a truly sad Friday even when it's an inevitably sad day to expect, if only because a lot of good people were suddenly mcmurdered all at once. there's no time to mourn dead people, though. something much worse has passed away today.

anyone who may come to the kitchen after the fires have been put out and Aloy's disintegrated remains were moved will see Akira on his knees in the rubble. he's probably cutting said knees up from broken glass, but he doesn't care. in front of him is his precious percolator and the remains of the stove he had been using to make his coffee. or, at the very least, what is maybe his percolator. it's pretty much melted at this point, still warm to the touch.

his head hangs low and he is absolutely motionless for an undetermined amount of time. Akira's eyes very well may be reddened and misty ― who knows if it's because of the rising death count or because he can no longer make coffee. there is no happy ending for anyone here in Yuggoth. why didn't get he get blown up with his coffee? life sucks. ]
