( INVESTIGATION - WEEK 4 )
![]() Promptly at 7:59 AM, all residents will wake up as if it was any other morning. There's the usual hum from the air conditioner units and the sound of harsh wind blowing against the windows. While the sun may not have ever set, there's no reason to doubt it's time to get up and greet the brand new day. Despite the usual cold clinging to the residents' skin, it seems like any other Friday morning. Or, at least, it does — until it suddenly isn't. A large, deafening explosion will rock the motel seconds before 8:00 AM, drowning out the sound of the grandfather clocks and threatening to break the building in half. Those on the motel's west wing will feel the tremors with greater strength, their ears ringing from the volume of the explosion, and just when the walls and ceilings begin to crack... A translucent shimmer coats every room from top to bottom, almost like a shield to keep the structure from falling apart. Now, it's time to see what surprises lay in wait for the survivors. Welcome to the investigation log! Please put the name of the location your character will be exploring in the subject header. If you plan on grouping up with someone else for a location, we ask that you keep it to 2-3 characters maximum. Once you're all set and ready to rumble, mods will be here to provide evidence if found and set the scene for investigation events. Happy body hunting! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

Also, Jay is going to step on something that feels both squishy and crunchy the moment he enters the Kitchen. Maybe he should dig through the debris to take a closer look?]

Or the remains of the upper half of one, anyway.
Gore and lipids are still attached to it, as well as a head. A lot of the person's flesh has been seared off, exposing bone and teeth as one of their hazel colored eyes dangle out by the membrane. Some bits of long, red hair still cling to the scalp, and Jay will notice a neat little hole in the middle of the forehead.
Care to take a guess as to who our mystery corpse is?]

The closer her gets, the more he might recognize the person's features. Or... what is left of them, in any case. With some good ol' fashioned squinting, he will finally identify our last mystery corpse.
