( INVESTIGATION - WEEK 4 )

Promptly at 7:59 AM, all residents will wake up as if it was any other morning. There's the usual hum from the air conditioner units and the sound of harsh wind blowing against the windows. While the sun may not have ever set, there's no reason to doubt it's time to get up and greet the brand new day. Despite the usual cold clinging to the residents' skin, it seems like any other Friday morning. Or, at least, it does — until it suddenly isn't. A large, deafening explosion will rock the motel seconds before 8:00 AM, drowning out the sound of the grandfather clocks and threatening to break the building in half. Those on the motel's west wing will feel the tremors with greater strength, their ears ringing from the volume of the explosion, and just when the walls and ceilings begin to crack... A translucent shimmer coats every room from top to bottom, almost like a shield to keep the structure from falling apart. Now, it's time to see what surprises lay in wait for the survivors. Welcome to the investigation log! Please put the name of the location your character will be exploring in the subject header. If you plan on grouping up with someone else for a location, we ask that you keep it to 2-3 characters maximum. [Suzaku acts quickly when Yukina begins to fall, quickly swooping down to catch her with an arm around her back. Once she's upright again, he stoops down next to the dirt.]

Something buried? How peculiar.

[He doesn't really make any indication that he actually did something nice and saved her from a sprained ankle.]

[ It is most definitely a mound — if Suzaku is prodding it, he'll feel some resistance.

That sounds entirely wrong, but will you continue or let Yukina take over? :/ ]

[Wow, he's actually a nice guy! Nice enough to not let her fall flat on her face.

She kneels down to examine the mount and reaches out to dig through it a little hesitantly.] I don't remember... seeing this before. Maybe we should try to dig it up.

[TEAMWORK. They'll dig faster together.]

[TEAMWORK IT IS. This isn't exactly the most elegant of tasks but it's fine. He can't very well let her do all the work. He'll work with her to unearth the mysterious buried enigma.]

[ As the dirt is pushed aside, they see the handle of an object. Yukina will feel her finger pricked when she reaches down too quickly — as a meat cleaver has been hidden here. It's blade was not bloodied, but seemed to have seen better days. It's blade roughed up instead of sharpened. ]

Ah!

[Well, that's an unpleasant surprise. Yukina will be a little bit more carefully clearing the rest of the dirt away.]

[Once they've moved enough dirt out of the way, he carefully lifts the blade up by the handle.]

It doesn't look as if this was used on a body...however...I have an ominous feeling that something nefarious has indeed occurred.

[ Then be nefarious out of the garden because there ain't shit here.

[Yukina looks like she might say something, for a second, but she manages to hold her tongue. Instead, she nods.]

I'm sure you're right.

[She's going to give the garden a thorough look-over but as the meta text says, nothing to find. Sooo, back to the motel!]
