( MINGLE - WEEK 5 )
![]() The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Kitchen, Dining Hall and Disposal room are still under constructions. Meals will be served in the Pool/Outdoor Dining Area in the meantime. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 5! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Without any murders we can't have a murdergame, so go forth and let the bodies hit the floor! As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

[ jay can be found at the pool again this week. instead of sitting at one of the tables though, he's sitting at the edge of the pool with his feet in the water. if you're passing by, it will seem like he's completely ignoring you, until without warning he'll look in whatever direction you're in and ask: ]
What are gods like in your world?
tuesday, lounge
[ sitting at a table at the lounge, jay is reading!
or... he's trying to read. every single time the buzzsaw intensifies he just slowly looks up, sighs deeply, then goes back to reading. this continues for a while, and if you watch closely you can almost count down the seconds until-- ]
If you were going to blow something up, why couldn't you do it away from the motel?!
[ HE'S SO TIRED. the faceless men continue their construction work from their respective locations, unaware of this outburst. ]
wednesday, museum
[ like everyone else, the night terrors over the past few weeks have been getting to jay. he has, however, maintained his composure for the most part while in public. he doesn't like it when other people know something's getting to him, after all.
this night terror, though? well. if you decide to stop by the museum, there's a good chance you might just trip if you're not looking where you're going. jay is crouched down on the ground, his arms wrapped around his legs and his head resting against them. when he hears you approaching, he'll slowly lift his head up. jay's expression is fairly neutral, except for the fact that his eyes look pretty dead inside honestly. he ain't doing too well this week. ]
MONDAY
[She's gone through so much trouble on their behalf and they'll probably still destroy the world.]
They're called Empyreans. Hyanoa, Musiphe, Eumacia, Amenoch, and... Innominat.

wednesday
Light is at least here to see if anything has changed in the past week. At first, he notes nothing of interest, until he sees a figure crouched on the ground. He frowns, approaching. This is not a... comforting sight.]
...Jay?
no subject
this is not a good #look and he knows it. ]
Oh. I didn't hear you come in.
no subject
Regardless, he steps forward, knowing that something is off. It doesn't take an observant genius to tell that much.]
It's getting to you, isn't it?
[He's experienced them too, but since Light's empathy is a rather dead thing, they've been annoyances at best. Occasionally detracting from his focus, but little else.]

It may be a little more difficult to ignore than others have been.

At this point I'm not even surprised anymore.

If it helps, I don't think it was well-chosen, either.

Wanna talk about it?
[he assumes it's a no, but. he'll offer.]
no subject
I hate it here more and more.
no subject
Yeah. Me too. [its kind of obvious why on his part, so:] The night terrors?

Sure, Mabel.
