SURVIVORS: ?? The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Kitchen, Dining Hall and Disposal room are still under constructions. Meals will be served in the Pool/Outdoor Dining Area in the meantime. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 5! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. That's a complicated question. All religions have different ideas on it.

Why do you ask?

Curiosity, mostly. We know that this game has something to do with a god, so I was wondering how that sort of thing differed from place to place.

Well, the most popular gods of my world are pretty different from "Mother" or whatever we're supposed to be calling her. For one thing, they don't ask for human sacrifices.

Wow, that is already a vast improvement.

[ human sacrifices are pretty low on the list of things that should be acceptable. ]

Generally they're also opposed to murder, so that's not bad either.

I already prefer them to what we have to deal with here.

[ granted he prefers a lot of things over what's here. ]

Well, the Unclean does have one thing in her favour. She doesn't make us wonder about whether she's real or not.

I would prefer if I had no idea because it'll mean we wouldn't be dealing with this.

We'd probably just have to deal with her followers anyway. That's how these things tend to turn out.

I wonder if the town hadn't been empty if that's what it would be like.

[ he remembers those scripts that the others managed to bring with them from the church before it caught on fire. ]

If the town hadn't been empty, it's possible we wouldn't be here. Who knows.

It could just be for decoration, I suppose, but if it is then they were very thorough with it.

[ giving the town its own backstory and everything, even. ]

I highly doubt they care enough to go that far. It's not as though "Mother" seems terribly invested in this game beyond its intended goal.

That's true. The only reason I can think of is just to make it harder for us. If we're trying to figure out mysteries that don't exist, that makes it easier for everyone else.
