( MINGLE - WEEK 3 )
![]() The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it doesn't seem like there's anything out of the ordinary on this lovely Monday morning. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 3! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Without any murders we can't have a murdergame, so go forth and let the bodies hit the floor! As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

[She met Omega here, once. She recalls that the other girl was carrying a bouquet of rather distinct blossoms - and now she's on the hunt for them again, and a few others. It's easier said than done, so... when she hears footsteps, she squashes down her unease and turns to whoever's approaching.]
Excuse me - do you have a few minutes to spare...?
lounge - monday afternoon;
[Later that afternoon finds her in the lounge, carrying an armful of flowers that look as though they've been freshly picked. She asks the faceless bartender for a tall cup filled with water, and once she has it, she sets to arranging the flowers in what she hopes is an aesthetically pleasing way.
Getting kidnapped doesn't leave much time for practicing the art of flower arrangements, okay?
Once she's finished, she clasps her hands together in front of it and closes her eyes.]
...rest in peace, Omega-san.
pool & outdoor dining area - tuesday morning;
[Yukina is taking the cards describing the night terrors as a challenge.
They want her to be paranoid? They want her not to trust people? It would be so easy to just lock herself away in her room until these strange feelings ended, but... that would just be giving in. She wants to believe in people, so she's making sure to spend as much time in public as she can.
Today, she's at one of the tables, with a deck of cards and a few books spread out in front of her. She has a fourth cracked open, and her expression is more than a little perplexed.]
Is this really meant to be read to a child...?
wildcard;
[If you want something different, hit me up over at
botanical garden, monday;
Do you need help with something...?
no subject
[Yukina looks over the plants and bites her lip.]
And... other flowers that remind me of her, too. Do you have any suggestions?
no subject
Hmm...
What about daisies and orange tulips?
[ They're fairly common flowers he doesn't think they'll have any issue with finding, anyway. ]
no subject
[Daisies and orange tulips, it is. Yukina keeps her eyes peeled as she walks through the gardens. ...at the rate they're all picking flowers, they... might run out before their time here is done.]
...what brings you here, Knoll-san? Not that I don't appreciate the help...

Monday Morning
[Yeah, he has lots of free time]
no subject
[She tilts her head to one side, considering.]
Last week she was collecting some, so I thought I'd look for them again. But, she said she was picking them because they reminded her of a friend of hers, so I want to find some that remind me of her, too.
no subject
Let's pick flowers with the colors she used to have. That'd be a good starting point.
[And now that he thinks about it...]
And I'm sure she'd like if you add the most sinister flower you can see around here. She seemed to be into that kind of stuff.
no subject
...they didn't know each other that long, objectively, but... it still hurts.]
She did. Okay, we need to find the spookiest flower in this entire garden!

well. none of the weeks are peaceful but this is extra annoying. ]
That's nice of you.

[Yukina reaches out to adjust the way some of the flowers are settled, then sighs. ...this doesn't really feel like enough, but it's a start.]
I want to make sure she's remembered.
no subject
[ it'd be pretty shitty if the ghost dies thursday and omega's deal with craftly turns out to be for nothing. ]

[Yukina's voice is soft, but determined, at the same time. She lets her hands drop to her sides, but she doesn't look at Jay just yet.]
One way or another... We'll make sure that we accomplish something with what she spent her life for.

tuesday.
[ The aren't Duel Monster cards, but still...! He didn't think she'd be into any card games. The books go ignored for now - or rather, Ryou isn't commenting on them, but he's taking note of the titles.
It should also be noted, maybe, that he isn't sitting down. He's keeping a careful distance, despite his bright(??) demeanor. ]
no subject
[Smiling is easier said than done, but Yukina tries it anyway. She notes that he's keeping his distance... honestly, as she is now, that's fine with her. It would probably freak her out if he just invited himself over and sat down.
She sets the book aside and reaches for the deck of cards, turning a few over - they're bootlegged, clearly, in much the same style as Kaiba's deck, but they're Pokemon cards nonetheless.]
Yes... I asked Craftly-san for a Duel Monsters deck after Kaiba-san told me a little about the game, but... these are what I got instead. They don't look quite right...
no subject
You're interested in Duel Monsters, Yukina? Maybe since you didn't specify the type of deck, they gave you that one... the monsters look pretty cute though.

She takes it with a nod, then turns her attention to the flowers, wrapping the ribbon aroud the stems and tying it into a bow.]
Of course, Andersen-san. How does that look?

nosinesscuriosity, though, because he ends up looking at the book Yukina is questioning]What book is it?
no subject
[Her voice trails off when she realizes just how young the person asking her the question is. She glances from the cover, to his face... and then tries to hide it by setting it in her lap and letting her sleeve settle over it.]
On second thought, I'm not sure it's appropriate for me to say out loud.
no subject
What? It can't possibly be that bad. Lemme see-- [he tries to grab at it]

tuesday
despite the clammy feeling that hasn't quite left her skin since the day before, she's approaching yukina... but she stops straight in her tracks when she sees the title of the books. what???]
Wh— where did you even get those?
no subject
I asked at the front desk for things to read. This is what Craftly-san chose.
[Maybe she ought to have been more specific.]
