( MINGLE - WEEK 2 )
![]() The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Storage room has unlocked itself overnight. How quaint. Welcome to Week 2's mingle, everyone! As of this week, we are now accepting murder proposals. If you're interested in having your character murder someone this week, please send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. We'll be contacting you on plurk over the week to finalize the details, or ask for rescheduling if necessary. As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

[Later in the day, after encountering Velvet in the lounge, Yukina can be found here. She's wearing something other than her usual outfit - this time, she's got on a pink dress and a jacket. The reason for the change of clothes will probably be immediately obvious, as she's hard at work with the laundry tubs and a washboard, trying to scrub something out of her kimono.]
...why is it not coming out...?
[THIS IS HARD.]
I knew blood stained easily, but...
[She doesn't want to wear a bloodstained kimono?? Let her live.]
dining room - tuesday;
[Everyone's gotta eat.
Yukina can't say she really likes the meals here, but... she knows it's important to keep eating, to keep their energy up. So she can regularly be found here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and if she sees anyone coming in, she'll wave them over with a small smile.]
Would you like to join me?
botanical garden - wednesday;
[It's peaceful here.
Sleeping has been difficult. At night, when it's quiet, the whispers seem so much louder, and though she's been trying, she... really hasn't been getting as much sleep as she needs. It's quiet here in the gardens, too, but there's ambient noise, at least.
Which... helps. A little.
She doesn't mean to nap - just to sit down at the fountain's edge and rest her feet while looking at the flowers around her. But she eventually manages to drift off, and she stays that way, dozing lightly, until she shifts just subtly enough to send her off-balance. Her eyes snap open as she realizes what's happening.]
—ah?!
[...but, unfortunately, it's not quickly enough to keep herself from falling. Luckily, there's no water. Unluckily? Marble is hard, and she grimaces as she braces for the impact.]
out in the city - thursday;
[Yukina is clearly restless today. She can't seem to sit still, but she can't seem to focus herself enough to do anything productive, either. Throughout the day she can be found wandering around on the paths out in the city, as if taking a walk would help her clear her mind - but it doesn't.
From time to time, she pauses, shakes her head, and clenches her eyes shut as if trying to block something out.
She keeps coming back to the path outside the gas station, staring at the road leading to Lake Crotin. It's probably not... possible to walk there, at least not safely, but she looks unsettled enough to try. In fact, catch her late enough in the day, and you might see her taking a few steps toward it before drawing back, unable to make up her mind.]
anywhere - any day;
[Wildcard option! Hit me with something else if none of the above works for you, or pp me at
wednesday!
If you're tired, you should go back to the motel.

Yukina looks down as she picks herself back up, unable to quite meet Mira's eyes. So much for looking cool.]
I know, but it's... [How does she even begin to describe it?] It feels a little... stifling, there.

I think it would be okay... today. It's a little too early for a killer to strike... probably.
["Probably" isn't a guarantee of anything, though, and she sighs a little, realizing that.] ...thank you for your concern, though. It's kind of you to be worried.

out of the city - thursday;
... It's a little too dangerous, don't you think? To try something like that now.
no subject
[It is dangerous. She knows that, which is ultimately why she hasn't just charged right down the path, danger be damned, but... if she gives up here, is it going to be just another failure to be reminded of?
Well, maybe it won't be a problem after tomorrow - but she doesn't want to hope for that, either.]
I'm not sure there will... ever be a time when it won't be dangerous.

[ Knoll shifts his gaze from her, to the lake, and then back at her. He doesn't bother hiding the bit of concern that seeps into his words when he speaks next. ]
Why were you considering heading to the lake?

monday
[Light comes in with a few shirts draped over his arm, hoping to have them cleaned today. The first thing he catches sight of is Yukina's back (wearing different clothes today, he notes), and it's easy to tell that she's scrubbing away at something.
There's something vaguely tired about his tone, but whether or not it's purposeful due to the execution just a day prior is up for debate.]
...Did you get blood on your clothes? What happened?
no subject
[Yukina realizes belatedly that this looks... a little sketchy, but hey, at least nobody is dead who wasn't dead before they woke up today. She looks from him, to the laundry she's doing, and then back to him.]
Velvet-san and I spent some time trying to clean up the lounge today.
[she didn't kill anyone, promise]

He steps forward.]
Ah... the strange message, you mean?

monday
[the obvious question dangles on the tip of his tongue, but in the end, he swallows those words and goes with something else entirely]
If it's a fresh stain, vinegar and hydrogen peroxide help.
[how does he know this]
no subject
useful information actually and she will not question it]
Ah... I can probably find vinegar in the kitchen. [Where to find hydrogen peroxide, though...]
no subject
And you could probably make a request at the hotel front desk for hydrogen peroxide, although by the time you get it the stain'll be too dry for it to work.
[but still! for. later. just in case]

Wednesday I'm sorry
percival is agile enough to grip her by the hand, only a mere second before she falls. ]
Agh — hold on!
[ oh, but it's a bit of futile effort — he falls forward, and the two of them tumble back into the fountain together.
not entirely futile, though! he was quick enough to pull her into his chest! ]
Yukina? Were you harmed?
never be sorry this is beautiful
One minute, she's falling, fully expecting a hard thud. The next - there is a thud, but she feels no pain. It registers on her, slowly, that she heard a voice as she was falling. And there's someone under her now.
Wait a minute...]
Per...cival-san?
[She recognizes those abs.]
I-I'm... I'm okay. Um.
She recognizes those abs.]

I suppose we can check once you've gotten off of me. Whenever you decide to do that.
[ it is, unfortunately, somewhat amusing. ]

tuesday
Sure! [... Her meal may be 1000000% meat, sorry.] I don't think we've talked before, have we?
[Which is to say, hi.]
no subject
I don't think so, no. [She studies her for a moment, trying to recall the name that corresponded with her picture.]
...you're... Saya-san, right? I'm Yukina.
monday
[Wait.]
How'd you get blood on it? Are you injured, miss?
no subject
[She's. Never really heard a word like that before. But more importantly...]
Oh... no! I'm fine. I just... got a little messy, helping Velvet-san clean up the lounge.

HELLO!
[hopefully she doesn't startle her]
no subject
Yukina startled Dipper, so now Dipper's sister is going to startle her.]
—eeeek!
[...oh. oh, it's just a small child.]
M-Mabel-chan...?
no subject
Hey, Yukina. I was just following you, because I'm a creep, [gives her a winning smile!!] but I couldn't help but notice you going back and forth! What's the matter?
