SURVIVORS: 40 The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Storage room has unlocked itself overnight. How quaint. Welcome to Week 2's mingle, everyone! As of this week, we are now accepting murder proposals. [WOW he knows because he's exceptionally neat and this even applies towards his clothes??? He's had bloodstains that have nothing to do with MURDER geez

But anyway, he nods, though he blinks as Yukina just pretty much plunges her hands into what must be very cold water.]

Ah... [He focuses on the matter at hand.] Yes. And if they may have been working with an entire group, that's disconcerting, since it only makes everyone distrust each other more.

...Isn't that cold? [The water, he means. Yes, he just told you to use it, but-- shouldn't she at least have reacted to some way to the temperature?]

...it sort of seems like we're meant to distrust each other... at least, that's what I think.

[Mostly it's because of the completely and utterly sketchy way some of those profile cards were filled out. There's no reason for them to be described that way except to make them fearful of each other.]

It's possible that it's just one person making it sound like there's a group to make it harder to know who to trust... but I think it's... probably more likely that there is a group. It's a little early for alliances, but... it seems one has been formed.

[And it's not even for the purpose of preventing murder. Boooooo.]

...ah? [She blinks, then looks down at her hands.] It is a little, but... I'm used to it. Where I grew up, there was almost constant snow and ice, so...

It is early, but this is a dire situation for many here. I wouldn't put it past anyone. Especially those with ill-intentions.

[He's still watching her hands. He's pretty sure his would have gone numb by now.]

That sounds like a very difficult environment to live in...? [Said with the lilt of a question, because he's curious.]

[She sighs faintly - while she'd like to believe that people aren't going to go out of their way to hurt each other, she also can't deny that, uh, people have died? They haven't caught the killer. There is very clearly still at least one individual will ill intentions here - and probably more.]

It is, a little. Or... was. I don't live there anymore. [She shrugs, continuing to work on getting the stain out of her clothing.] The weather wasn't as difficult to bear as the people... it was like most of them had become as cold as ice, themselves.

[Then her expression brightens up just a bit.]

I like it much better where I am now - or... where I was, actually. Before we came here.

[He tilts his head at her, just a little, still curious.]

And where's that?

[He'd have no context, of course, but where individuals grew up in contrast to where they currently live sometimes said a lot about a person.]

[okay realtalk yu yu hakusho is crap at actually providing place names for some areas, the closest i can find is the name of a city where three side characters are confirmed to live, one of which attends the same school as a main character so you know what? i'm just going with that because i don't feel like that character would go to a school in a totally different city. UGH.]

I've been spending my time near Mushiyori City... I don't suppose you've heard of it?

I haven't. Is it a particularly large city?

It seems large to me... though, I'm not certain how it compares to other cities.

[The struggle of having more life experience in the demon realm than the human one...]

I like it, though. The people there are... very friendly, and... warm? [She smiles.] And it's where my friends live, so it feels more like home to me than where I grew up.
