SURVIVORS: 40 The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Storage room has unlocked itself overnight. How quaint. Welcome to Week 2's mingle, everyone! As of this week, we are now accepting murder proposals. [ all throughout tuesday, you can find jay literally everywhere. he seems to be looking around for something. or someone! late monday night at around 11 pm he most definitely knocked on everyone's door in search for his roommate? i'm sorry he's rude and doesn't care about your sleep schedule.

early evening on tuesday, he is especially agitated, especially after finding out someone else's roommate has mysteriously disappeared. so if you're passing by the front desk and lobby area, you'll hear an announcement. ]

Jake and Anderson are missing.

thursday morning, diner

[ jay's mood has definitely not gotten any better. in fact, he's even more annoyed. right now he is taking that annoyance out on the jukebox in the diner. you can find him going through each song. it probably would look pretty casual, if not for how much force he puts in when he presses the button to play a different song.

yeah he's definitely grumpy as shit rip. ]

[Wow, guys, it's not even Friday yet!!

Anyway, Girge was probably polite enough when Jay was an inconsiderate shit last night, although chances were he wasn't even sleeping then, so.]

So your search didn't turn up any results, I see.

Nothing. It's like the ground swallowed them up with how little trace there is of them.

[ he sighs. ]

I can't believe our numbers are dwindling like this at the start of the week.

Any idea what might've happened? It's not even Thursday yet, so it doesn't seem to be a murder by the rules of this game.

[ She obviously looks worried, standing next to Jay and folding her arms. ]

If he wandered off, he would've made it back by now. He would've... he's not some irresponsible baby.

And I'm concerned about curfew. They weren't in anyone's rooms last night before midnight hit, and that's against the rules.

Do you think they were punished for breaking the rules...?

Where and when did you see them last? Did they mention that they would be doing anything in particular?

The last time I saw Jake was late in the morning yesterday. I believe it was relatively the same for Omega and Anderson?

[ he shakes his head at the second question. ] Jake didn't tell me anything, which is what's strange. He's not the kind of person who would run off without giving me any kind of warning. And the timing of the two is most likely not a coincidence, so it's most likely they were together.

[ jake has been a good roommate?? he talks about dicks too much which is weird but like, otherwise jay cannot complain. ]

But being missing in a place like this isn't very encouraging.

Even worse, technically this happened yesterday so we were only a day in before someone got into shenanigans.

[ jay takes a deep breath. lets it out. ]

I have no idea. The last time I saw Jake was early yesterday, and he didn't tell me that he had any particular plans to vanish into thin air.

[chie's still a little spacey but she's much more awake than she was about an hour ago when she wanders into the diner. she blinks a couple of times as the music changes every five seconds, then notices who's at the jukebox.]

Still missing, huh.

[ he can't even bring himself to sound properly sarcastic. ]

Detective Mabel's on the case! Where did you last look? Did you try leaving treats out for them?

I just finished checking the town. [ again ] Why would I leave treats.

...Who are they?

[she knows. she knows the profiles are right there. but the real question is why should she care about them, when there are other people? so, they vanished. so what?]

One of them is my roommate.

[ he shoves his hands in his pockets. ]

Having people disappear on us isn't exactly helpful. It just adds one more worry on top of everything else we have to be concerned with here.

Jay will not have seen much of Dirk if Jay didn't seek him out. Dirk has shown up for meals, apparently returned to his rooms every night on time, and otherwise been nominally functional all week. But not his most sociable.]

[ jay glances at him. he does not bring up dirk not really being around considering he is Aware of why that is a thing. ]

I got told off just from pressing the button too roughly.
