SURVIVORS: ?? The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Kitchen, Dining Hall and Disposal room are still under constructions. Meals will be served in the Pool/Outdoor Dining Area in the meantime. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 5! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Like it's weird that I'm sitting here playing a two-person board game by myself.

I've never played a game like this before. What are the rules?

[traces a finger along one of the lines of holes]

The goal is to connect four of the same color, while preventing your opponent from doing the same. That's about it, honestly. S'pretty simple.

[ Knoll then reaches to poke curiously at one of the holes. ]

Yes, I'd like to. I found that I've taken a liking to strategy games...perhaps sometime we should play a game of chess together?

[ He picks up a piece. ]

[aha! he perks up happily at the mention of chess]

'Course. I'm a pretty darn good chess player, if I do say so myself.

[hoarding the red pieces for himself, Kaito deposits one into the holey game board]

[ He's never liked bright colors and if there was purple pieces he'd be all for it. Still, he takes the yellow ones because he does have no preference in between the two. ]

Hmm, that makes sense. You seem rather good at thinking things through.

[ He'll put one in after Kaito does. ]

I spend a lot of time thinking things through back home.

'Sides, chess is really a battle of wits. Those are my favorite kinda fights.

Are you a fan of riddles as well, Kaito? Since it does require quite the wit.

I am. Although, heh. I've gotta admit, I prefer coming up with riddles more'n I like solving them.
