( MINGLE - WEEK 5 )
![]() The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Kitchen, Dining Hall and Disposal room are still under constructions. Meals will be served in the Pool/Outdoor Dining Area in the meantime. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 5! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Without any murders we can't have a murdergame, so go forth and let the bodies hit the floor! As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

library - tuesday;
He counts it lucky that they're not so bad now (though bad enough in the end.) But...he has to be strong. It's hard, but he can manage.
Knoll puts down the book he was writing on, and stands up. When he does, he notices Yukina and draws over to her. ]
...Are you looking for answers as well?

[Yukina nods slowly, but manages to keep from pulling away when he draws closer. It's... fine, isn't it? He's choosing to speak with her, even knowing what she did.
(But what if it's not genuine? What if she's been manipulating him, somehow, like Heather had said-
She forces herself to stop wondering that, and looks up.)]
Or... looking to learn more useful skills. [She sighs.] But looking through books will only do so much...
no subject
What kind of skills are you looking to learn? Perhaps I could help you.

[Or, maybe not. They've had an unfortunate tendency not to find anyone until it was too late to do anything for them.]
Either that or... I'd like to get better at figuring things out. If there are stories about solving mysteries, maybe I'd improve by reading them... I don't know.

[ Knoll doesn't think they'll ever find someone in time to help them if they've been targeted by a killer. It just doesn't happen. But still, he knows it could be useful for when someone does something stupid here and gets injured...
He'll begin to look over at the nearby bookcase while waiting for her answer, hoping that he could find a mystery story for her. ]
It all depends on which of the two you would like to start with first. But, I could help with the second subject as well.
[ He was a researcher; he's had experience in solving mysteries. ]

Hmm...
[She weighs her options. As much as she aches to be able to treat everyone's injuries, she has to admit... a propensity for solving mysteries would be better here.]
...the second would be more immediately useful, I think.

[ He looks through the book section some more and he finds that he's unable to locate what he desires. Knoll's voice sounds more sure, and more methodical as he speaks. ]
I'll give you a few tips--some of them may seem obvious--though you don't have to take them all to heart.
Sometimes the most obvious solution is the answer. When something seems to be a coincidence, it's likely not to be one. This is especially so when an recurring element is involved. If something or someone seems suspect--you should question them or it. Don't take anything at face value. Always re-examine something someone has said or brought forth for you to look over.
If you feel as if you are being deliberately lead away from the right answer, you probably are.
[ Knoll begins to look at another book-case. ]

...is there anything that can be done to... make it easier to understand things? There are some things that I've been able to figure out, but truth be told... a lot of the evidence tends to go over my head.
[Then again, she's not super familiar with most types of weapons, so she wouldn't recognize wounds, anyway. Puzzles are easier. Thanks for leaving that clue, Mira.]
