( MINGLE - WEEK 5 )
![]() The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Kitchen, Dining Hall and Disposal room are still under constructions. Meals will be served in the Pool/Outdoor Dining Area in the meantime. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 5! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Without any murders we can't have a murdergame, so go forth and let the bodies hit the floor! As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

i, a mod, must shitpost
[ So, by the time most of the frogs are rounded up, there would be a few missing. Luckily, Chiaki was not touching them and instead opted for the net as well, but — the sound of screaming frogs can echo in the outdoor patio area. Chiaki wades herself into the shallow end of the pool with a bucket and lid. The muffled screams of the frogs were heard and if anyone would ask what she was doing... they'd see different colored ribbons ripped from fabric on the side of the pool. Blue, Red, Yellow, and Green.
Oh, yes. Chiaki is ready for a frog race. It's close to video games, right? ]
wednesday evening
[ Chiaki was somber, moreso than usual. She's perched on the front steps leading up to the second floor, scribbling tirelessly into the walkthrough she's developed for the "game". Since I, a mod, am lazy and not updating it right now, it spans across the weeks and offers tip. They can see one big highlighted section in yellow:
Pro-tip: do not go out into the fog. ...It's not nice...
She won't respond if you say her name a few times, it would actually take someone nudging her to snap her out of her zone. ]
wednesday
Nice, a GameFAQ. What happens if you go into the fog?

...I think that's where Ryou went. Maybe. Genuinely, I don't think it's a good choice — it's a locked out part of our playing field either way. If this is a "game", an out-of-bounds could result in death, a glitch, or well... just getting stuck against an invisible wall.
[ She then grows silent. ]
I could be wrong though.

You're more likely right. It'd be nice if we could ask Ryou.

I wish I could have stopped him, but he wouldn't want me thinking that. He didn't need to do that — or do that alone. I'm going to see if I can re-read the newspaper, maybe there's more answers about the lore of this game.
...Something to add to the GameFAQs to help, anyway.

monday
... You can do it, Red.

I'm rooting for Blue. It's — it's almost caught up to Red!

wednesday
Is that a game guide?
no subject
Technically? Yes. A game guide to this — so people in the future can learn from our stupid mistakes. Wish we had one sooner...
no subject
That's... not a bad idea. I guess I'm sorta doing something similar with my notes, too. [he continues to look at the guide for a second] It'd be nice if we could make it so no one would ever need one of those again, though.
wednesday
Have you been out there yourself?
no subject
[ She says firmly. ]
It's pretty much assumed Ryou went out too far in it. ...Wonder how far he got...
no subject
[he asks curiously as he takes a seat on the stair below her]
I wonder if anyone got the chance to talk to him. . . I heard he was in pretty bad shape, though.
[so he might not have been able to speak :(]
