( MINGLE - WEEK 3 )
![]() The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it doesn't seem like there's anything out of the ordinary on this lovely Monday morning. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 3! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Without any murders we can't have a murdergame, so go forth and let the bodies hit the floor! As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

[the day has finally come. reckoning is upon us. the sins of man have at last caught up to us fallible wretches.
by which i mean, the faceless men have given up on doing L'Arachel's laundry for her and she's out of clean clothes so she has to do an entire chore herself. unfathomable.
this definitely isn't a lady who's used to doing this kind of thing for herself though, and also her roommates probably have to explain running water to her like three times a week, which is why anyone walking into the laundry room around now is going to find the floor utterly soaked in soapy water, and L'Arachel standing in the middle of the room, staring uncertainly down at a sink half-full of clothes and tutting, only refocusing at someone else's entrance.]
It seems someone's made a mess of this place.
[oh
my god]
wednesday morning, botanical gardens
[Just around the overgrown gazebo, passersby might hear a fierce-sounding—] Hah! Take that! And that and that! [—and the occasional thudding sound. This could almost be mistaken for a fight except that anyone who investigates is just going to find L'Arachel...swinging a broom at nothing. Sometimes hitting the side of the gazebo and starting because she totally didn't mean to.
Please don't sneak up on her, because she's taking really wide swings and absolutely not paying attention to anything around her and she will hit you in the face if you aren't careful.]
wednesday afternoon, hunting lodge
[Apparently having decided she's, like, so-so on the broom idea at best, L'Arachel has migrated to the hunting lodge, where she has taken down one of the longer hunting rifles and...is swinging it around like a bat. Is. Is this safe. It's unloaded but is this okay.]
Take that and that and—! [and then she just smacks a vase clear off a table behind her because she didn't just go the fuck outside to do this, or pay any attention to her surroundings at all]
...Oh dear.

[feel free to hit me up at
Laundry Room
...yes, I noticed that...
[The more he looks, the worse this seems to be]
Who did this mess?!
no subject
[she. sounds genuine about it, unfortunately.]
no subject
I'm not going to ask what happened, but I'll ask you if you need help with that over there.
[Those clothes in the sink, he means]

Geez! I wonder who that "someone" could be.
[he says with overdramatic and obviously fake shock]

We need to catch the culprit right away. [NOD NOD] Make 'em clean up this mess as penance for their crime.
The crime of not knowing how to use a sink.

[ L'arachel, why are you like this. ]
no subject
[is she really just going to pretend she meant to do that]
Of course I am going to treat this task with as much enthusiasm as I would provide to any attempt at demon slaying and banishment.
[all she's doing is making a mess?!?!]
no subject
[ Well neither of them are cleaning up this mess so hopefully the Faceless will. ]
Please try to be more careful with that enthusiasm. If you wind up hitting someone by accident...

so, she has to speak.]
Can you stop fighting ghosts for a minute?

[and she points at the chamomile flowers that are blooming around.]
Can't you build a training dummy or something?

except L'Arachel is too caught up in...whatever the fuck she's doing to be in too much of a huff over Andersen existing in her space like a brat. She just kind of...looks at the gun. Tilts her head.]
Is that what this is called?
[SHE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT A GUN IS]

wednesday afternoon
[ This
is not okay???????
Tsurugi finds it kind of funny though! But look at that, L'Arachel, you made a fuckin mess. Kicks some of the stray vase pieces around. Oh dear, indeed. ]
Someone's going to cut their feet on this.
no subject
No? This seems as fine a purpose for it as any.
[she doesn't know what guns are???]
no subject
Well, I mean- that's how people use guns sometimes! They kind of hurt that way... Buut-
[ Then he makes a... Gun motion??? Like he's holding his own invisible rifle and goes 'pew pew'. ]
It works kind of like that!
wednesday afternoon
That's, um. Not how you're supposed to use one of those.

I... take it you don't have guns in your world? It's a projectile weapon.

Hey, hey, hey, L'Arachel! Come here!
[Jaws theme plays]
no subject
actually no okay Mabel is a loud boogery mess but L'Arachel basically trusts her intentions so she does, in fact, go there upon request, oblivious to her approaching doom.]
What is it?
no subject
[thankfully, her hands are booger free, so she's going to reach out towards the hair if it's in range]
