SURVIVORS: 36 The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it doesn't seem like there's anything out of the ordinary on this lovely Monday morning. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 3! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. actually no okay Mabel is a loud boogery mess but L'Arachel basically trusts her intentions so she does, in fact, go there upon request, oblivious to her approaching doom.]

Your hair is so pretty, and it's such an exotic colour! Do you dye it, or is it always like that because of magic?

[thankfully, her hands are booger free, so she's going to reach out towards the hair if it's in range]

The only magic at work is my naturally superior breeding. [flips her hair over her shoulder!! god shut the fuck up. and L'Arachel isn't so tall that Mabel shouldn't be able to reach it, even though it's up in her two fancy pigtails, though she leans in a little so Mabel can touch it.]

Wow! Are you some kind of royalty?

[she'll run her fingers through it]

Saaaay, have you ever braided it?

You haven't realized? You share your space with none other than the heiress to Rausten's Divine Emperor.

[She twists a piece of her bangs around her finger.]

I have, though I have never found a style I like best that both suits my beauty and allows ease of movement on the battlefield.

Wow! A real life empress! [Mabel looks pretty impressed!] I guess it's hard to tell when someone's rich and famous when we're getting kidnapped and thrown in a creepy motel like this.

[pets her hair!!] And your hair is soooo soft! What if I take a crack at it? I bet I could style it so it's formidable and beautiful. Those nasty killers won't know what hit them!

I certainly can't deny such enthusiasm! [She stands up straight so she can undo her weird hair ties and pull them free, and even unclasps the circlet she's always wearing so it doesn't get in the way. Taking a seat on the bed, she sets the circlet in her lap and passes the ties to Mabel.] Here. I expect nothing but the best from you, Mabel!

I'll give you a royal hairdo! Like all those princesses in the star battle movies!

[and she gets to work on braiding with her little nimble doll hands. She's got practice, she's making a french braid]

Sooo, what's it like, being an Empress Princess? Are you really rich? Do you have fancy parties? Can I come to one?

Star battle movies..?

[she knows what two thirds of those mean independently of each other.

that is at least mildly less important though! she laughs lightly, ever-charmed by Mabel's enthusiasm.]

There is ever more to it than riches and parties. To be divine royalty is to be a humble servant of both your people and the gods, serving and protecting the former in the latter's name!

["humble" yeah okay]

But of course, I would be delighted to have you as my personal guest of honor at the next set of royal festivities.
