( MINGLE - WEEK 2 )
![]() The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Storage room has unlocked itself overnight. How quaint. Welcome to Week 2's mingle, everyone! As of this week, we are now accepting murder proposals. If you're interested in having your character murder someone this week, please send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. We'll be contacting you on plurk over the week to finalize the details, or ask for rescheduling if necessary. As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

[Someone has gotten a hold of the newspaper and she's pretty clearly not happy. Velvet knew this before reading it, but seeing it in black and white only angers here more. She crumples the paper into a ball in her hand, but doesn't throw it because littering is bad.]
Who the hell took all the knives?! If you have any, return them to the kitchen! If you're worried about defending yourself, you should be worried about what'll happen to you once I find out you're the reason I can't cut up any apples!
II. STORAGE ROOM - TUESDAY
[If you walk past the storage room, you'll hear lots of rumbling around and general movement sounds. The door is wide open, though, revealing Velvet gathering all the cleaning supplies she can in her arms. And she looks pretty excited about the whole prospect! Until something falls out of her hands and there's no way she can grab it with everything she's carrying at the moment.]
Ugh...
III. SECOND FLOOR HALLWAY - WEDNESDAY
[For the most, she's been trying to deal with the whispers as best she can. Ignore them, get on with her life, and act like nothing's happening. She's heard it all before, after all. But as strong as Velvet is, she can't last forever. On Wednesday, she's crouched in the middle of the hallway, hands over her ears.]
Shut up! Shut up already! Grrragh!
IV. WILDCARD
[You know the drill! Feel free to message me here or on plurk if there's something else you'd like to do!]
Tuesday
Why all the cleaning stuff at once? Did someone make a mess around here?
[He's really hoping all this isn't for your room!]

[While she knows it's because she can't hold anything more, she still eyes him a little because he better give that back. She absolutely needs that one specific cleaning thing.]
It's better to be prepared, isn't it? Plus, it's not like this place is too clean to start with... I did an initial sweep of my room, but this should finish the job.
no subject
I'm surprised you're going to do it yourself, most people here would ask the employees to do it for them. Does cleaning help you relax?
no subject
[She may be exaggerating a bit.]

...somehow that makes Ryou's theory a tad more unsettling than before. He thinks the faceless men resided in this motel before our arrival -- and that'd include sleeping in our rooms.
I guess it'd be correct not to trust their cleaning skills.
[You know what, he's going to get to the storage to pick some cleaning stuff too, way to make him a bit nervous about the state of his room. He'll return all the stuff later.
He still has your nondescript cleaning implement, though]

monday;
It'd be nice to know, but I don't believe anyone would readily admit to taking the knives. Unfortunately.
Though, I suppose you could try asking some of the others directly and try finding out that way...
Re: monday;

[ Besides the fact that Knoll is wary of trying to force that upon anyone... ]

You don't call me Lord Velvet. Is there some reason for that?
Either way, he seems trustworthy, or enough so that if he is forceful people will forgive him. Obviously if I go asking for knives, no one will listen. And if you go, well, I doubt you'll get anywhere.
no subject
[ Maybe if she was, he would...! ]
Even though he's trustworthy, not everyone will forgive him if he's too forceful, and not everyone trusts him. You are also right in that we wouldn't get anywhere.

tuesday
[ He picks up the scrub brush off the floor. Nagasone tries to see if he can balance on the pile of stuff Velvet has in hands, but decides against the prospect. ]
I didn't know you had experience as a maid-- did you find something to do?
Re: tuesday
I don't. And clearly, no one else here does either. There's still some corners of my room I need to clean, so this should help.
no subject
[ This is a soft side of Velvet that's nice. ]
If that's where you're taking these, then I'll follow in case something drops along the way. Would you like help with cleaning?
no subject
[Another look of acknowledgement because really, if she nods it will all come tumbling down.]
It'll go faster if I do it alone. So, no thanks.

Monday
I thought there was something mighty fishy about the lack of knives. Someone really took them all?

[Actually, if she still had her arm, that wouldn't be too bad of an idea.]
