( MINGLE - WEEK 2 )
![]() The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Storage room has unlocked itself overnight. How quaint. Welcome to Week 2's mingle, everyone! As of this week, we are now accepting murder proposals. If you're interested in having your character murder someone this week, please send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. We'll be contacting you on plurk over the week to finalize the details, or ask for rescheduling if necessary. As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

monday;
It'd be nice to know, but I don't believe anyone would readily admit to taking the knives. Unfortunately.
Though, I suppose you could try asking some of the others directly and try finding out that way...

[ Besides the fact that Knoll is wary of trying to force that upon anyone... ]

You don't call me Lord Velvet. Is there some reason for that?
Either way, he seems trustworthy, or enough so that if he is forceful people will forgive him. Obviously if I go asking for knives, no one will listen. And if you go, well, I doubt you'll get anywhere.
no subject
[ Maybe if she was, he would...! ]
Even though he's trustworthy, not everyone will forgive him if he's too forceful, and not everyone trusts him. You are also right in that we wouldn't get anywhere.
no subject
[Her point is mostly that either she deserves it or no one else does.]
Then maybe we could ask one of the kids? Unless they're the ones who stole all the knives...
no subject
[ Knoll doesn't really understand her point... ]
We could ask one of the children, but I'd rather not force them into a precarious situation.
no subject
[Laphicet could definitely do this?? Although she'd probably make Eleanor do it.]
I still think it's strange you'd address two lords completely differently. Our titles are almost exactly the same. Or do you disagree?
no subject
[ It sounds like a recipe for disaster no matter how he looks at it!!
For a moment, he's just making a face... ]
... You just want me to call you Lord as well, don't you?
no subject
[Velvet pauses, but the corners of her mouth turn up slightly.]
I think it might be amusing. Although people might think you're some servant of the Lord of Calamity then.
no subject
[ Though it probably won't work it's better than nothing. ]
Hmm...I'd rather not anyone think me the servant of the Lord of Calamity. It wouldn't be good.
[ There are too many ways it can turn into a fiasco, as far as he was concerned... ]
no subject
[His sincere response almost embarrasses her.]
Your loss then. If that's the case, though, it'd be better to cut all ties with me entirely.
no subject
[ Well, at least he's sure she's not joking this time. ]
... Have a good rest of the day.
[ If allowed, he'll be on his way. ]
no subject
If you're gonna do that, at least move out of the room!
no subject
Wh-what are you saying, I can't just--!!
[ ...He considers, well, maybe it isn't so bad to call her a Lord too. In the end, it doesn't necessarily mean he's in service to her...
He sighs. ]

no subject
[ He'll glance to the side and then back at her. ]
I thought for a moment that you were truly upset that I didn't want to call you such a title.
no subject
[Her face is a bit bashful, as she didn't think he'd take her so seriously. Although she does wish he'd move out...]
I just thought it was strange, honestly.
1/2
[ His face colors red for a moment; this isn't the first time he's taken something that was said in a light manner so seriously.
Was it really so strange, he wondered? Percival was... ... ]
... Ah, well...
2/2
no subject
[That'll probably be best for both of them.]
But you really don't wanna see about living with Percival? Or someone else in that situation, I guess.
no subject
[ He seems to be thinking about something. ]
Perhaps I'll ask him...sometime soon. [ Once he gets the nerve to-- ] But, for now, I am fine with the way things are--or rather, as fine as I could be.
no subject
[She just really doesn't like sharing. With someone other than Eleanor or Laphicet, that is.]
I'd have no alibi then, but no one would have to worry about me killing my roommate. At least now, you can vouch for me.
no subject
[ He knows Velvet has made some enemies--doubtless people may use it as an excuse and ... he shakes his head. He doesn't seem all that much bothered about her potentially killing him, though. If it happens, it happens... ]
And that's why I wouldn't want to leave you in your room by yourself. I considered such a possibility--it'd be all too easy for anyone to use that as an excuse to make you out to be a killer in one of those 'trials'.
no subject
[As amusing as that thought is, Velvet's more surprised than anything.]
I... I really don't care about something like that.
