( DEPARTURE )
![]() At 6:00 PM on the dot, everyone who has died during the ritual will awaken in their respective beds. Whole and unscathed, it would be far too easy to say that everything has been nothing but a fever dream. But the truth, as always, is far different from what the heart yearns for. For the first time in five weeks, night falls over the City of Yuggoth. The sun no longer hangs over your heads, its presence dark and oppressing. Instead, a soft, blue light shines down from the sky. It's not quite the moon, no. The Unclean's avatar is still visible in the sky, after all. But it's comforting. It's the promise of new beginnings, of newly forged bonds, and pacts that neither heaven nor hell are capable of tearing down. Does this singular moment in time make everything they've been through worth it? No, probably not. But this is the end. Their journey is over. Now it's time for forty-one (41) individuals to choose their destination, while one (1) is left behind. The unmarked room between the Kitchen (still wrecked — thanks, Tsurugi) and Laundry room is now open. Faceless men will be giving away baseball caps, pens, keychains and all the splendor of Yuggoth, as well as glossy photos taken throughout the ritual... for most, it will be a photo of their dead body and the manner in which they died. Yikes. A toy machine has also been left here, with a sign that reads TELEGRAM FUND: DEPOSIT YOUR CLUE TOKENS SO EVERYONE CAN CONTACT THEIR FRIENDS. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE ANDERSEN, SO DON'T ASK. - ABIGAIL. Manning the Curio Shop won't be the only duties the faceless men have been relegated to, however. They'll be hunting down everyone but the new facilitator in order to give them a bus ticket. The destination and time of departure will be blank upon initially receiving it, but as soon as one thinks of where they want to go? Both fields will be filled in, and will be adjusted accordingly if anyone has a last minute change of heart. It seems like, in the end, it's up to the residents to decide whether to return home or to catch a ride with one of their new friends. Starting from 6:00 AM on Tuesday morning (a fact only discernible thanks to the Grandfather clocks, as the sun refuses to rise again), double decker buses will roll by the motel to pick residents up. There will be several buses, each one remaining at the entrance for fifteen minutes and the next one arriving after an hour long interval. Bus tickets will refuse to change after the first bus has arrived, so try not to be too indecisive lest you wish to remain in this realm or strike a deal with the Unclean. On the bright side, there are at least two to four days before everyone has returned home. May as well get those final goodbyes over with, right? It's a wrap, everyone! Thank you for the wild ride, and don't forget to check out the Love Meme and TL;CR Meme. You can use this post to thread out those last goodbyes. ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

So when the faceless men bring her ticket, she holds onto it for a while just in case. Maybe she'll get the wild idea to change? Yet no matter how much time passes, it remains blank even when the buses begin to arrive. No surprise, but it is what it is. She's just waiting for everyone to get lost so her and the Unclean can tear shit up.
In any case, she's in the lobby with a bottle of wine she stole out of the lounge and a framed picture of her execution. It's in glossy color, her organs sputtering out, Jake hunched over, and it's kind of ugly looking but she'll keep it for ~memories~.
...And in the nearest trash can in the lobby, you may see the discarded hearts she had ripped out since they aren't good anymore. She just dumped them out... don't ask...]

hajime will take her leave when the she confirms her plans - with dipper and mabel, of course. until then, her ticket is blank. upon waking up, however, she makes the place as homely as she can - there are a few pillow and blanket forts in the lounge, with signs that denote them for public usage. she can be spotted trying to urge the faceless men ti give them a shot multiple times and positively squealing with wild glee when they do as she asks. "so cute!" she shriek before moving on.
the lobby is littered with 43 paper cranes, each one a different color. she leaves them on the front desk for people to take. when picked up, there's a little note on the corner of a wing asking for the holder to unwrap it. when they do, there will be instructions for a specific kind of salute. there's also a paper banner left up over the front door on the inside:
she can be spotted easily putting any of these things up. after all, her outfit is very strange: a dinosaur onesie. feel free to help her! if not, hajime will be manning a table placed by the door, the rulebook laid out in front of her. it's slow going, but she's placing notes and mementos people might be willing to give her with the words in it.
...and on the back of it, she appears to have glued the picture of her suicide. yikes.
and if none of those ping you - hajime will eventually hug each and everyone participant if she's allow to. she even hugs some of the faceless men! when she does, it's near bone crushing and she can, she'll pull people off the ground juuust barely, their feet hovering over the floor as she squeals excitedly. ]

[he can be found quite a few places prior to departure! the first is in the parking lot, his ticket raised above his head as he inspects it in the soft blue light, one hand resting in his pocket. he's mumbling something to himself. . . I mean, a change of scenery is kinda nice, but she couldn't give us an ACTUAL moon? C'mon!]
[the second is in the curio shop, although he isn't there to grab souvenirs. he seems to be wandering idly around it, taking in the sights, both hands linked behind his head. I think I might actually miss this place, heh. Er-- only this room, though. Not everything!]
[and finally, he can be found standing near the toy machine, scanning Abigail's message with one brow raised. if anyone else is nearby, he'll lift his head and nod at them before asking]
Got any tokens to put in this thing? I think it'd be kinda nice if we could still talk to each other after we go home, yeah?
Plus, I really wanna know how inter-dimensional telegrams work.

When she has her ticket, and after she's dropped her single clue token into the toy machine, you might catch her wandering about searching for the people she wants to say goodbyes to. She won't be sticking around once she's done that, so this might be your last chance to chat.
Also, she's wearing a Yuggoth t-shirt. She's got a whole bag full of souvenirs to take home. (Photos of her burnt remains are not included. It's not a nice memory.)]

[ Yeah, guess who's here to punch him in the face because he was a fucking salt mine in the graveyard.
When he pulls his fist back from the punch though, his expression is neutral. Like it or not he still has to admit that Girge did get away with murder pretty cleanly at that even if his corpse was the one who suffered for it.
That one week he decides to put in Effort, apparently. ]

like kaito, he stops by the curio shop but it's not to go shopping. he's sitting at the table in it, looking at a wikihow explanation of how to rip off your fingernails with forceps. his expression is fairly unreadable, so it's hard to tell if he is thinking of it fondly or is just annoyed about it. it's probably both.
besides that, you can see him just wandering around. he's holding the ugly as shit otter plush that dipper gave him?? it's hideous but he's keeping it. he's also taking with him a few other things, but the otter is the only thing clearly visible aside from the friendship bracelet he made with mabel. ]

But while Velvet could turn her back on the whole world, or even several worlds, she can't leave behind those close to her. Her decisions remain unchanged from her arrival, but she's fine with that. She'll make a new world with her own efforts.
Still, throughout the time before her departure, Velvet can be found cooking and even knitting. She's working on a rather pathetic scarf, but it's her first time! And she's teaching herself, okay! For the most part, she seems the same as ever. But you might just spot her smiling warmly to herself as she mutters,]
I'll be home soon, Phi...

the blue light filtered in gently through the window as she shook herself awake, turning on her side as if she wanted to sleep in a little longer. if she was alone like this, she probably would just sleep until it was time to leave. the rest before her journey to god-knows-where.
but she sees something on the other side of the bed. an imprint.. like, as if someone had been laying there. everyone was back. and weirdly enough, she didn't want to disappoint them by not showing up. so she roused herself from bed and got dressed in the most casual thing she could find and went out into the world one last time.
she can be found roaming the halls staring at her currently blank ticket, or near the pool playing tic-tac-toe. she's trying to distract herself from having another nic fit. she'd developed a need here again. ]

My dear son... at last, I will be able to see you again.
[ Other than that, she can be found wandering the shop but never touching anything, her hands kept close to her thin frame. It also seems like she doesn't sleep for some reason, so you can find her walking around the place even in the dead of the night.
On Tuesday, she'll have questions for whoever stands beside her: ]

so Quer is everywhere she might be, looking around and taking her time saying goodbye to places. but a change is there from her normal demeanor - she's smiling. it's hard to see her not smiling about something.
the bus ticket tucked into her robes is currently blank. but she'll figure out where she wants to go.]
no subject
She's going to see her friends again. Accomplish the goals she'd had in mind when she first left her home - and yet, the destination on her ticket changes a couple of times over the course of the day.
Hyouga, first. To see what's become of her homeland.
Mushiyori City, because she can take a bus or a train from there back to where she knows her friends are.
But also, briefly... Domino City, because she's gotten maybe a little more attached than she should have. When she sees that, her expression goes carefully blank, and she shakes her head a few times to try and clear her mind. ...it doesn't quite work, and the words remain on the ticket.
Well, there's still time.
On Monday, she can be found wandering around - committing the people and places she's spent so much time around to memory. On Tuesday, when the first bus arrives, she looks at her ticket - but slips it back into obi before anyone else can catch a glimpse of it.
People are leaving. If there's any time to say her goodbyes, it will be now - and then she can catch her bus, near the end of it all.]

on monday, she can be found standing in front of the toy machine, rubbing the back of her neck as she looks down at it with a hint of guilt playing on her face.]
Kinda wish I hadn't spent mine on this week's trial... I definitely would have used it on this. It seems way more useful than a fingerprinting kit we didn't even get to use, right?
[following that, she spends the rest of her time in yuggoth saying goodbye to the people she's met here, promising to keep in touch with them if they do get their interdimensional telegram service capabilities granted. from wednesday on, she can be seen in a gaudy innsmouth motel t-shirt she'd picked up from the curio shop. she had to do the tourist thing at some point, and she'd like to take back something that meant this all really did happen, despite... well, everything.
she doesn't choose to leave until the one of the last buses is scheduled to return the survivors back to their homes.]
