Promptly at 8:00 AM, both of the Grandfather clocks will begin to ring, the sound traveling to every corner of the motel. All residents will wake up as if it was any other morning. There's the usual hum from the air conditioner units and the sound of harsh wind blowing against the windows. While the sun may not have ever set, the amount of times the Grandfather clock rings makes it clear: it's time to get up and greet the brand new day. However... something seems off. Maybe it's a shiver of cold leaving a trail of frost on your skin or a burning sensation in your chest — but it feels like something is drawing you out of your room and into the outdoor hallways. Where will you go? Welcome to the investigation log! Please put the name of the location your character will be exploring in the subject header. [Haha jk you know what's cool about Striders? They move fast. It's how Dirk flips around, grabs Kaito's shoulder, and spins him so he can punch him square in the jaw.]

[Kaito's usually fast, but with his bum shoulder and still healing bruises and Dirk being way faster, there's no way he dodges that. the punch connects squarely with his jaw, sending him reeling. when he straightens, he lifts a thumb to his mouth and wipes away a few traces of blood]

Percy's dead, Emily's dead, Clem and Violet and Jake are alive but for how long. He can't do another week of this. He can't deal with all this stupid, pointless garbage for another week. He wants all of this done.]

[looks at her out of the corners of his eyes, because he can't help himself. and weirdly enough, even though he's tense and stressed as hell and wary of literally everyone, the fact that she doesn't seem mad is. . .]

[There's a smiling boyfriend over here because yes but he'll be checking on Dirk the second he moves away from Kaito to hug him. He knows how angry Dirk is and he knows how he feels so much.]
