( INVESTIGATION - WEEK 5 )
![]() Promptly at 8:00 AM, both of the Grandfather clocks will begin to ring, the sound traveling to every corner of the motel. All residents will wake up as if it was any other morning. There's the usual hum from the air conditioner units and the sound of harsh wind blowing against the windows. While the sun may not have ever set, the amount of times the Grandfather clock rings makes it clear: it's time to get up and greet the brand new day. However... something seems off. Maybe it's a shiver of cold leaving a trail of frost on your skin or a burning sensation in your chest — but it feels like something is drawing you out of your room and into the outdoor hallways. Where will you go? Welcome to the investigation log! Please put the name of the location your character will be exploring in the subject header. If you plan on grouping up with someone else for a location, we ask that you keep it to 2-3 characters maximum. Once you're all set and ready to rumble, mods will be here to provide evidence if found and set the scene for investigation events. Happy body hunting! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard |

This better all end tomorrow.

[he falls quiet, before turning on his heel, showing Dirk his back]
It's up to you.
no subject
Fuck you. Don't you dare fuckin' claim responsibility for every one of us and then turn around and act like it's all out of your hands now that we know. Don't you fuckin' dare act like you're just passive pieces after you decided to make everyone else into exactly that.
Own up. You aren't close to done being responsible for all this yet.

[he stands up straighter, shoulders squaring, gaze firm and unwavering]
Dirk.
I meant it's up to you if you wanna take a picture or not.
[THAT. THAT'S, ODDLY ENOUGH, THE TRUTH]
no subject
Well okay then.
He just puts his face in his hands, pressing hard, his glasses riding up as he presses the heels of his palms into his eyes. He can't do this. He can't do this. Percy's dead, Emily's dead, Clem and Violet and Jake are alive but for how long. He can't do another week of this. He can't deal with all this stupid, pointless garbage for another week. He wants all of this done.]
Misunderstood. I'll pass.
[Kaito he isn't ok right now Dipper is in a better state for it.]
no subject
S'fine. I can't say I didn't deserve it.
. . . take care.
[and he's off to escort Dipper and Andersen to the garden]

Woohoo! That's a real firecracker! Kapooooow!
[ accompanied with a weak set of claps? i swear there's a reason she's doing this, but. nah. ]

Can you bring the rest of those fireworks for tomorrow?

[He means he's supposed to prevent a lynching.
It's going to be hard. For many, many reasons.]

[ with a tilt of her head. she wants to fold her arms, and attempts to, but decides against it. when there's push back from torn muscles. ]

[looks at her out of the corners of his eyes, because he can't help himself. and weirdly enough, even though he's tense and stressed as hell and wary of literally everyone, the fact that she doesn't seem mad is. . .]
[a little relaxing]
