( MINGLE - WEEK 5 )

SURVIVORS: ??

The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors.

The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel.

And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Kitchen, Dining Hall and Disposal room are still under constructions. Meals will be served in the Pool/Outdoor Dining Area in the meantime. How quaint.

As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 5! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Without any murders we can't have a murdergame, so go forth and let the bodies hit the floor!

As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions!

...for fun...?

[The way she repeats that, like it's a question, is probably indication enough that she's, uh. Not.]

I can't. There's... no time to relax. [That's right, she hears in the back of her mind, though it feels like it's being screamed at her from a few feet away. She starts to glance to the side, but forces herself to stop and look back down at the book instead.] ...I have to figure out how to help people. I don't want to keep failing.

[He's watching her closely, noting the nervousness. No, something far more poignant than mere anxiety.

However, at this point in the week? He knows exactly what it is that's ailing her. Light isn't surprised, and there's only so much he can do -- distract, maybe. Escapism can do wonders for an addled mind, though he never indulges in it himself. (No need, anyway. The voices that screech at him in turn? Easy to ignore.)]

There is time to relax. You're doing your mind a disservice by pushing it too far.

[He's just going to look over to scan the shelves around them.]

What's your favorite genre?

...my favorite...?

[...Light isn't going to let this go, is he? She can tell that much, from the way he's looking at the shelves.]

...I like happy endings.

[Though she's pretty sure there aren't going to be many to find, here. Unless whoever stocked the building put them there to give them false hope.]

[Light's a stubborn one, even when it comes to frivolous things like this. So no, he doesn't intend on letting it go.

A cursory look at the shelves reveals that there doesn't seem to be anything that might all under the category of "happy endings". Not that he would know without flipping through them, but like Yukina, he assumes there won't be many to find.

He hmms and decides to take a seat nearby, leaning back in the chair he's chosen.]

Fairy tale endings, as some might mistakenly call them. [Still, he's thinking.] I can think of a few Japanese ones. Though their focus is more on a bittersweet, beautiful ending, rather than a happy one. But maybe you're already familiar...?
