( MINGLE - WEEK 5 )

SURVIVORS: ??

The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors.

The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel.

And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Kitchen, Dining Hall and Disposal room are still under constructions. Meals will be served in the Pool/Outdoor Dining Area in the meantime. How quaint.

As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 5! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Without any murders we can't have a murdergame, so go forth and let the bodies hit the floor!

As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions!

WEDNESDAY, BOTANICAL GARDEN

[ heather has been here all day. her wheelchair's with her, but she isn't in it — she's walking again! very slowly, and with a slight hobble, but she can do it without it hurting too much.

either way, you might be more curious about what she's doing here. she's picking flowers! very specific flowers. after she's accrued a decent amount of them, she's taking a bowl she borrowed from the kitchen and is crushing it with a mortar. she looks incredibly focused on this task.

at some point, she decides to take a break. she wipes a few beads of sweat from her forehead. ]

Definitely hot enough to be doing this today.

[ percival settles beside her, a brow furrowed as he simply observes. ]

I can help -- I'd like to see the finished product, after all.
ungodly: (so i start speaking)

You don't even know what I'm making. What if it's arsenic?

[ then percy and his true love can be like romeo and juliet <3 ]

Then it would be useful. [ 'tis the truth! and THERE IS NO TRUE LOVE, FIRST OF-- ]

Are you going to make me wait, then?

I'm making a thing I read about once. Aglaophotis. You have to pick peonies during the hottest days of the year to make it.

[ hence why she's here, sweating like a dog. ]

Aglaophotis... [ his eyes scan over the gardens, likely searching for peonies. ] Tell me more about what you read, if you will. I'm curious about your world.
ungodly: (it's what you gave)

[personal profile] ungodly 2017-06-23 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
You can use it to dispel evil. Like.. to eject it from things. Forcefully.

[ as in it might rip itself right out of your skin. ]

I forgot all about it, but I know it works. It worked.. on me. So I thought it could come in hand here, too. It's probably a dumb idea. I bet Craftly'll just snatch it up from me and eat it like a junior mint.

It's not dumb. [ he says it firmly, like he's certain. ] Don't doubt your own endeavors after coming this far.

Why was it used on you?
ungodly: (what i feel inside)

[personal profile] ungodly 2017-06-24 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Right.. Sorry. I sound like a mopey mall-crawler.

[ it was hard to force her insecurities away, but percival was a good pep talker. ]

I used it myself. [ she says this matter-of-factly. ] Something was.. living inside me. I had the aglaophotis with my the whole time. it was from my dad. Somehow I just.. knew it would work, even though he'd never tell me what the stuff was, even when I was a little girl. I think that's why I remembered it now.

...Peonies?

[ He can sort of recognize them! They're popular back home, being the imperial symbol and all. Never seen them be crushed before though.

He's here for more chamomile, but hey, at least they're getting the nice flowers. ]

Kind of a shame to crush them, but what is it for?
ungodly: (you taught me how)

[personal profile] ungodly 2017-06-23 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
I'm making something. Like.. a potion, I guess. It sounds kind of stupid like that, though.

[ heather didn't fancy herself a witch or anything, she just knew about occult stuff, and.. well, she had personal experience with this particular thing, so she knew it worked to do certain things. ]

Not at all. It makes it sound special.

[ The occult horror genre can do a lot to a girl, huh... He holds up the small, daisy-like flowers he picked. ]

One of the cookbooks has section called "herbal remedies"... but that sounds kind of boring. Like it's just medicine in a pinch with plants? I don't trust the clinic stuff though. These at least are fresh.

[ And everywhere. ]
