( MINGLE - WEEK 5 )
![]() The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Kitchen, Dining Hall and Disposal room are still under constructions. Meals will be served in the Pool/Outdoor Dining Area in the meantime. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 5! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Without any murders we can't have a murdergame, so go forth and let the bodies hit the floor! As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

[ Knoll isn't unappreciative of the man's words, though--even if he knew an answer like that was obvious. Maybe this was some form of distraction...from the bloodied form--
He'll then nod at the question. ]
I was thinking of adding to the memorial on the second floor. It was something to do, and it couldn't really hurt. I've done it before, but with last week's commotion it slipped my mind to do so until now. However, even if it doesn't necessarily require much effort, it may be best that I have some company while I do this. And if you have any suggestions for anything more fitting for them, I won't mind.
no subject
Maybe you can suggest a flower that I should pick to add to the memorial?
no subject
Sunflowers are fairly common, so if you can find one, it would be good for the memorial. It could also be good for representation of some of those who passed...as we did have a few bright personalities among us at one time.
no subject
[Sunflowers. Easy, recognizable enough. Light waves a hand in a direction, gesturing for Knoll to follow if he likes.
In the meanwhile, idle conversation.]
There were definitely the more energetic types among us. [A pause.] L'arachel was my roommate, as you know. It's strange to wake up in the morning and not hear her voice.
[....screaming at him.]
no subject
Oh, I see. I've never been privy to what Princess L'arachel was like in the early mornings, but I imagine that even then she was very excitable...? Or at least, very chipper, I'd imagine.
[ Poor Light. ]
no subject
[A little... blandly:]
She tried to kick me out of the room every day.
no subject
...Did she ever say why?
no subject
He stops and turns to look at him. He seems unimpressed but not particularly offended either way.]
Because I'm male, and it was "uncouth" for me to share a room with a young woman and a little girl. Even though all I did was sleep on the pull-out couch.
It's hardly my fault that I was assigned to room with them.
no subject
When he looks a bit unimpressed, Knoll only clears his throat and removes his hand, placing it back at his side. Knoll at least has somewhat of a good poker face now. ]
No, it wasn't. However, that does sound like her...I'm just sorry she gave you so much trouble, on behalf of being her companion.
She didn't give any other trouble, did she?
no subject
No. She didn't. It was a fair amount of trouble in the morning, but beyond that, I had no issue with her.
[In the distance, a flash of swaying yellow catches his attention. Light moves towards it.]
Did you know her very well?
no subject
[ When Light moves toward the yellow, Knoll merely follows. It's all he could ever do, isn't it? Just follow...and...
He's too weak. If only he had more power... he could do something. He could've saved them. It was his fault. He knew he was useless-- ]
I wish she hadn't come here in the first place. But, I don't think most really deserve to be brought here...unless they came here willingly. Then, that's a different story.
no subject
Those that would come here willingly... What kind of person do you have to be, to want to take part in all of this?
[He reaches for a stem, gently plucking a flower. Light turns it over, examining it closely. He supposes it'll do.]
But... she doesn't have to be here, surrounded by all of this suffering anymore. You can take solace in that, right?
no subject
[ Knoll is pretty sure there might be some other things but it is all he could comprehend, because people who willingly wish to sell their souls away...yeah, he'd rather not try to understand that, actually.
He takes pause and gives a small glance up at the sky in thought, before back down to look at the sunflower. ]
... If there is one thing to take solace in her passing, it would indeed be that. However, I also hope that where she rests is peaceful enough for her to do so. She's had enough of this suffering--we all have.
no subject
I hope so, too, Knoll. In the meanwhile-
[He hands him the sunflower for him to examine. It's big and bright, its petals a vibrant yellow.]
You think she would've liked this one?
no subject
[ Knoll smiled sadly, reaching out to the sunflower after a moment of hesitation. However, it is unmistakable...the emotion in his eyes--the immense appreciation of Light's simple actions and words that make the specter beside him seem temporarily invisible. ]
Light, I believe now would ne the time to express my gratitude, and thank you for your help. You truly are a kind person.
kill me
He only smiles faintly -- it's a little bittersweet.]
You really don't need to thank me. You're the one who's kind enough to pick flowers for the deceased. I'm just helping.
