( MINGLE - WEEK 5 )
![]() The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Kitchen, Dining Hall and Disposal room are still under constructions. Meals will be served in the Pool/Outdoor Dining Area in the meantime. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 5! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Without any murders we can't have a murdergame, so go forth and let the bodies hit the floor! As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

[Since there's no longer a kitchen, she's stuck out here when it comes to cooking. As the faceless men serve their meals, Velvet prepares her own poolside cuisine, with plenty of grilled meat and vegetables. There's way more food than one person can eat, so why not grab a plate and have a pool party with a daemon? If Velvet's been a nagging mom or annoying in-law throughout her time here, now is the time for that sweet barbecue dad vibe.]
II. OUTSIDE VELVET'S ROOM - WEDNESDAY
[Mysterious noises can be heard in the hallways. Although her door is locked, Velvet's voice can be heard clearly.]
51... 52... 53...
[Occasionally in the middle of her counting, she might make a pained sound. There seems to be some deal of effort in whatever she's doing.]
93... 94...
[And suddenly there's a loud clattering noise! It sounds like something being thrown or hitting the floor, but what could it be? And what is Velvet even doing? After the sudden stop, she's gone silent...]
III. LOUNGE - THURSDAY
[Velvet sits alone at at a table for two, nursing a cup of water because she's 19 and can't drink. She looks annoyed as she speaks to no one, sure she must look like Arthur did when he spoke to malakhim.]
It's been a while, huh. Not like sleeping's gotten any easier.
IV. WILDCARD
As always let me know if there's anything you want to do with Velvet!
ii. outside velvet's room - wednesday;

[ He'll raise a hand to push a strand of hair behind his ear. ]
Have you been...doing alright?
no subject
If it's about the illusions, then yeah, I'm fine. This is really nothing new to me.

[ ... he can't even imagine. Right now it's barely bearable for him. ]

[She looks to the empty space beside her.]
She used to be my sister, Celica.
no subject
... I can't see her, though I had no idea you had a sister.
[ ... ]
Was she anything like you?

wednesday
Are you playing some sorta weird counting game?
no subject
I was combing my hair. You're supposed to do it at least 100 times.
no subject
Why? 100 times seems excessive.

[tilts his head, peering at her hair. staring at it feels kind of weird though, so he doesn't do so for long]
Guess so? If it is, in fact, you brushing it 100 times that makes it looks good.

[but he can understand where she's coming from based on what she said beforehand. it must be weird going from not being able to find what you need, to said needs being a simple request card away]

. . . did that happen to you?
[is that why she's so. hardcore]
