SURVIVORS: 32 The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the buildings surrounding the motel, it seems like the Library is now open. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 4! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. [ jay just stares at her hand for a very long moment. he's not a medical expert, but he's seen enough injuries over the years to tell when something is Very Bad. ]

Chie, what are your thoughts on being one handed?

[suddenly, all her pain is out the window as she straightens up, staring wide eyed at jay, then at dipper, then at jay once again.]

I mean I know bone exposure is bad but is it THAT bad?????

We can't close the wound with the bone sticking out like that, but I highly doubt anyone here would be able to do the type of surgery that would require setting the bone back in correctly. She's going to get an infection if it stays like this though, and if it gets bad enough then not only will we have to amputate, but she is going to feel a hell lot worse than she does now.

[ dipper is right about the lack of anesthesia though... he looks at everyone gathered here. none of them are old enough to be able to grab alcohol huh. ]

Take her to the clinic and I'll meet you guys there, okay? I need to grab something.

How are you going to do that without accidentally sending her into shock?! You have to cut off the blood vessels so she doesn't bleed out too, and figure out how to seal the wound once it's done??

[she attempts to brush off kaito's hand, because she's too busy freaking out right now? the poor faceless man she pushed in the first place to set off this whole rube goldberg machine of bad decisions is probably just standing off to the side, having no idea what to do right now.]

I am going to need everyone here to stop screaming right now. You're not helping. In fact, this is raising everyone's stress levels. Yes, I am aware we need to seal the wound. We'll most likely have to cauterize it. No, we do not have any anesthetic. Chie is going to be in a lot of pain. Maybe we can somehow get a lot of alcohol and get her very, very drunk, so it'll be slightly less awful.

So please, please get her to the clinic, because at the very least if you're going to yell about this we can do it in the appropriate location instead of the lobby.

Won't getting me drunk make it worse? What if I wake up tomorrow, completely forgetting this whole thing happened, and then seeing my hand is gone and the stump is burned?!

[GOD HIS INJURED SHOULDER IS BURNING, but thankfully, he's offering Chie his non-injured one. his own pain is something he can ignore for now]

I have some antibiotics, too. That'll help, 'm sure. Dipper. . . we'll probably need some hot water and a wet cloth to clean up the mess, and something that produces fire so Jay can sterilize the equipment.

[meanwhile, while this macabre planning is happening:]

Oh my god. Thi... this is actually going to happen. I'm gonna lose my hand? My hand is getting cut off.

[with her uninjured hand, she hides her face, trying her best not to burst into hysterics. the last five (?) minutes or so have been a roller coaster of emotions. she probably needs another nudge to actually. go to the clinic??]

anyway, jay will be showing up to the clinic, with one (1) adult in tow. he had to get alcohol somehow okay. he also did not manage to get a saw?? but it's fine. he has a cleaver. nothing can go wrong here. ]

[ right, so percival is here with around 3-4 bottles of absinthe and whiskey. he's also brought his first aid kit so the last of the bandages can be put towards This Mess.

he glances at that hand and uh, yeah. that has to come off. first thing's first, he'll be cracking open a bottle with the boys so it can be appropriately used. ]

We need to make sure she's unconscious before the procedure starts. Are any of you familiar with the amputation process?

[by the time Jay and Percy find them in the clinic, Kaito is there and has probably helped Chie take a seat on one of the cots. he's also fetched some sterilized gloves, because. yeah, those are going to be needed]

I am. [KAITO WHY] Sort of. I've never put the knowledge to practical use, but I've read books.

Academic knowledge can be useful, but practice and theory are vastly different. [ he'll be drawing out a pair of sterilized gloves from his kit, alongside a medical mask for jay. ]

Chie, start drinking. Kaito, sterilize the equipment. Jay, I can assist you with the procedure. Dipper--
