SURVIVORS: 32 The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the buildings surrounding the motel, it seems like the Library is now open. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 4! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. [she's at least getting up and looking agreeable enough—hopefully not dislocating kaito's shoulder while doing so because they can only handle so much chaos at once holy shit—but something within her isn't going to let her feistiness go without another comment. she's probably appreciate jay's straightforwardness once the deed is done, but until then, she narrows her eyes at him. Won't getting me drunk make it worse? What if I wake up tomorrow, completely forgetting this whole thing happened, and then seeing my hand is gone and the stump is burned?!

[GOD HIS INJURED SHOULDER IS BURNING, but thankfully, he's offering Chie his non-injured one. his own pain is something he can ignore for now]

I have some antibiotics, too. That'll help, 'm sure. Dipper. . . we'll probably need some hot water and a wet cloth to clean up the mess, and something that produces fire so Jay can sterilize the equipment.

[meanwhile, while this macabre planning is happening:]

[with her uninjured hand, she hides her face, trying her best not to burst into hysterics. the last five (?) minutes or so have been a roller coaster of emotions. she probably needs another nudge to actually. go to the clinic??]

[ this whole thing is a mess. why is the 12 year old here. we really should have just knocked chie out the moment she showed off her fucked up hand.

anyway, jay will be showing up to the clinic, with one (1) adult in tow. he had to get alcohol somehow okay. he also did not manage to get a saw?? but it's fine. he has a cleaver. nothing can go wrong here. ]

[ right, so percival is here with around 3-4 bottles of absinthe and whiskey. he's also brought his first aid kit so the last of the bandages can be put towards This Mess.

he glances at that hand and uh, yeah. that has to come off. first thing's first, he'll be cracking open a bottle with the boys so it can be appropriately used. ]

We need to make sure she's unconscious before the procedure starts. Are any of you familiar with the amputation process?

[by the time Jay and Percy find them in the clinic, Kaito is there and has probably helped Chie take a seat on one of the cots. he's also fetched some sterilized gloves, because. yeah, those are going to be needed]

I am. [KAITO WHY] Sort of. I've never put the knowledge to practical use, but I've read books.

Academic knowledge can be useful, but practice and theory are vastly different. [ he'll be drawing out a pair of sterilized gloves from his kit, alongside a medical mask for jay. ]

Chie, start drinking. Kaito, sterilize the equipment. Jay, I can assist you with the procedure. Dipper--

...Go back to the motel. You don't need to see this. [ onwards now, percival approaches him, placing a hand onto his back and subtly nudging him forward. unless he WANTS to stay. do you want to stay, dipper. ]

[at this point, chie is probably crying. she's very firmly in the denial stage of grief right now. the liquor isn't exactly helping on that front, either. her affected hand hangs limply at her side—the pain is certainly still there, but any actual feeling in it seems to have left. it's with a bit of a struggle that she attempts to down the alcohol; at least the burn from it doesn't hurt at all in comparison to what she's been through in the last couple of days.

her speech is noticeably slurred at this point, though it's unclear whether her face is red and puffy from the booze or her tears. maybe a combination of both?]

D...does one of you want to just knock me out? Like a mercy punch? I-I swear, I won't hold it against you, promise. Just... just one good right hook.

[...and then she starts sobbing again, realizing she will no longer be able to do that herself, on account of. losing her right hand.]

jay will put on all of the items percival gives him. chie is... understandably distraught. he highly doubts anyone in this room will punch her? that's a little mean, considering the circumstances.

he waits a moment, and when it doesn't seem like she's going to regain control of herself any time soon, jay just moseys on over behind chie, raises the cleaver and just murders her right then and there



no he just hits her in the back of the head with the handle part of the weapon really hard. knocking her out???? andie pls say she got knocked out. ]

[ right, so. after making sure chie is properly situated and that all of their supplies have been thoroughly sterilized with the help of this group of newly appointed medical professionals (none of them are professionals), it'll be time to work.

jay has never cut off someone's hand before, so he just looks at the cleaver uncertainly. it's a good thing chie is unconscious because she'd probably get more freaked out now that he's finally allowing himself to look nervous when he isn't bossing everyone around. but it'll be fine? probably. he hopes that the blow to the head plus the alcohol will keep her under long enough for them to finish this. kaito should be holding her down at least just in case??

it takes a moment to decide where would be the best place to cut, and once all the final preparations are done (look i read like four internet pages on how this works i'm not an expert so you are going to get vague rambling at best here), he raises the cleaver and then lowers it onto her wrist. it doesn't completely severe it, so he does it again, while thinking about how he would vastly prefer hugging an otter right now over doing this bullshit. but eventually, chie is no longer capable of clapping, and once jay is content with how her new (bleeding) stump is, he turns to the others. ]

We need to stop the bleeding, cauterize it, and stitch the skin over it to cover it. [ there is probably a lot of blood on him he is going to need a new outfit again rip. ]
