( INVESTIGATION - WEEK 3 )
![]() Promptly at 8:00 AM, both of the Grandfather clocks will begin to ring, the sound traveling to every corner of the motel. All residents will wake up as if it was any other morning. There's the usual hum from the air conditioner units and the sound of harsh wind blowing against the windows. While the sun may not have ever set, the amount of times the Grandfather clock rings makes it clear: it's time to get up and greet the brand new day. However... something seems off. Maybe it's a shiver of cold leaving a trail of frost on your skin or a burning sensation in your chest — but it feels like something is drawing you out of your room and into the outdoor hallways. Where will you go? Welcome to the investigation log! Please put the name of the location your character will be exploring in the subject header. If you plan on grouping up with someone else for a location, we ask that you keep it to 2-3 characters maximum. Mod replies will be sent out at 6:10 PM onwards, so we ask that you hold off having lengthy threads until then just in case there's a corpse smackdab at the entrance of a room. Happy body hunting! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

... but damn it did they just lose their doctor—
aka Girge will be pausing, before stepping forward. Is it Rachel, is Rachel dead...]
Well, I suppose an uneventful night would've been improbable...
no subject
Apparently not.
[ He walks over to examine the figure in the wheelchair too. What's up, metatext? ]
1/2
As soon as the individual steps in, they see large bloody footprints into the ground. Mostly around Rachel who is slumped forward, lifeless and well... very much taking the eternal nap. The walls are all decorated with a red substance. The eastern, western and southern wall have KILL, MURDER, FALSE MOTHER written all over like a mantra. However, the wall that faces the entrance will have another message written on it: weaK heArTed refenCeD ectopAraSITe.
But, back to the body outside... looks to be... uh, a thing. Get to it!
For the person investigating the lounge, reply to me. For the person investigating outside of the lounge, reply to the 2/2. ]

What the hell...?
[ He takes note of the blood on the walls, the floor's footprints... back to Rachel. How does it look like she died? ]

He'll give her wheelchair a good look-over, and then chek around around the lounge, mainly the bar counter and tables. They're mirrored and shiny, after all. Anything out of place besides blood and a body? ]
no subject
A pair of blood covered gloves and a bucket coated with blood inside and outside. Looks like it may have something to do with the wall too. Want to take a look? ]
no subject
He'll take a look, but not touch it. Don't know where it's been :( ]
no subject
On one the messages on the eastern wall — KILL — will be slightly smudged, unlike the rest. ]

While we're here and since you can't take a bloody footprint to evidence... how big is it compared to his? ]

EDIT: nope he got everything, thanks mods! ]
2/2
Slumped outside the lounge on the ground, face up toward the ceiling, and a knife halfway through the left-side of the chest where the heart is.]

He was actually kind of hoping to find nothing so that he wouldn't have to put in the effort of reporting it, so this sure is a lot of murder!! But Girge will be crouching to check for a pulse (and will avoid taking the knife out, for... obvious reasons...).
So,
hotdead or not.]no subject
Moments after the touch, Girge can see Mira's eyes lazily flicker and trying to stay open. Her eyes are glossy and face swollen, she can't even see the person looking at her. What she does feel is her body in horrifying pain, her head screaming. Yet she's too weak to do anything but whisper:]
H...help...
[And her eyes close again, unconscious.]
no subject
Mira! She's - she's alive? [that is super super shocking tbh] Girge, can you do anything for her? [because honestly she's out of her depth here aside from """herbs"""]
no subject
I have supplies from the clinic in my room. I'll see what I can do.
[...]
In the meantime, try and keep her alive—so please refrain from pulling the knife out or doing anything suspicious that may lead to her death, or I'm afraid I might have to accuse you in tomorrow's trial.
[But with that, he'll be turning away to head to his room!! ... Don't feed Mira weed, Aloy.]
no subject
[But alas, Girge is already gone, leaving Aloy with nothing to do but talk to herself under her breath.] Great. Keeping her alive. You can totally do this, Aloy. It's just one stab wound, it can't be that bad, right? Right! Think about all the people you've seen walk off a couple of arrows to the chest!
[Yeah, it's probably a good thing Mira isn't conscious for this...anyway, in lieu of anything else to do, Aloy will very carefully start inspecting her wounds. Was she stabbed with a standard kitchen knife, and how deeply embedded is it in her chest? Are there any other injuries on her? How much blood is on her body, and does it look like it's all from the stab wound?]
no subject
Along with the obvious stab wound, there are several cuts on her arms, collarbone and shoulders. From their positioning and depth, it's easy to imagine Mira might have tried to shield her face with her arms when she was initially attacked. Still, a couple of smaller cuts and scrapes adorn her face and the rest of her upper body. There was only so much she could defend herself from, as Aloy can probably guess.]
no subject
Move aside, please.
[and now jan admits to basing this all off of wikihow because hell if i know medicine
After swapping his uniform gloves for sterile ones, he takes out his scalpel... and before this sounds extremely alarming, he uses it to cut up Mira's shirt up to where the knife is (sorry if you liked that shirt, Mira), as he'd rather not have to remove the weapon just yet. Instead, he presses the gauze around the knife, in an attempt to stop/slow down the bleeding.
ASSUMING THAT GOES WELL and Mira doesn't, like, die in the process, he'll be asking Aloy:]
Lift her so that she's in a sitting position, will you?
no subject
Be careful. It looks like whoever attacked her just barely missed her heart.
no subject
[Ideally, Girge could just get their actual doctor to remove the knife and do what she needs to, but since she's dead, that's not really an option anymore, is it?
So carefully, he takes the knife out; afterwards, he's promptly ready to stop the bleeding. Once that's done and dealt with, he cleans the wound, before (assuming the wound doesn't need to be closed) covering the dressing with bandages.]
Anything else of interest this morning?
no subject
We heard a woman screaming around ten minutes before eight this morning, but our doors wouldn't open. If it was Mira screaming, she's incredibly lucky to still be alive. Aside from that...going by our record of not being able to get through a single week without murdering, I bet there's gonna be plenty of things of interest.
