( MINGLE - WEEK 3 )

SURVIVORS: 36 The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it doesn't seem like there's anything out of the ordinary on this lovely Monday morning. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 3! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Me too! [She thinks for a few moments.] Maybe it's a disguise. Or maybe... it makes you smarter when you put it on your head!

[How is she so cute? He smiles.] Or maybe you can do magic? It's called The Magician so... maybe you can do tricks when you wear it?

[This gets her thinking. She taps her chin, then looks up at Jake.] Dave... said he had a role, but then it changed to another role. He said, "I was for a while."

Maybe the Magician puts roles in their hat and pulls out another role. So they trade.

[It surprises him but he supposes that is possible.] It could be, yes. There's a copycat role but... a role that could change into other roles at the drop of a literal hat would be worth keeping a secret.

Maybe... they can pull other things out of the hat? Like... things people can use. Or--things they can use too.

[potentite]

It is a magician's hat. I certainly wouldn't put it past it to be able to poof any sort of thing you want into existence. Is there a role on here that you're curious about?

[empireofrats]

Um. The Explorer! They have a map. I wonder what it shows. Or... The Reporter. They get as token.

[potentite]

I'm interested in the Explorer, too! It sounds fun if you ask me. I bet the map has all sorts of secret passageways and so forth. Oh! But I know a bit about the tokens. [He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a big, glittery, multi-coloured bouncy ball.] I got this out of one of those toy machines.

[empireofrats]

[Welp. Her eyes light up when she sees the bouncy ball. She doesn't know that it bounces yet, but she's aware of its bright color and the fact it's a "toy."] Really?!

I want to try the toy machine! But I haven't gotten anything to put in it yet.

[potentite]

[He shows her by bouncing it on the counter a few times.] Neat, huh? I think there's other things in there, too, like probably yo-yos or something. And maybe marbles? Old-fashioned toys like that. If you get a coin, you can get a toy, too.

[empireofrats]

[WOWEE!!!! THAT BALL THO!!!]

Oh! That's really amazing! I want a toy from the machine too. Um--how did you get the coin? Did the Innkeeper give it to you?

[potentite]

[He rolls the ball to her so she can give it a few bounces too.] I got the coin from the sewer goddess, actually. I'm not sure why she gave it to me, though.
