( MINGLE - WEEK 3 )

SURVIVORS: 36 The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it doesn't seem like there's anything out of the ordinary on this lovely Monday morning. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 3! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Um... the book I was reading. The one about sailing. And a towel. I don't wanna get it wet, and I don't know how much I can look at it here, but... it'd pass the time at least.

Alright. I'll be right back, then.

[ Knoll heads off to retrieve the book, and grab a towel. It takes him about a normal amount of time to grab the items and return. ]

[Velvet swims closer to the edge of the pool so she can actually use those items! She lifts one of her arms out to dry it off with the towel, but she freezes for a moment. There's a bit of hesitation as she looks between the pool and the book, but she grits her teeth and dries her arm off anyways. As she opens the book, every motion is carried out with a sort of immense effort. It pains her to even have her arm outside of the pool, but she's trying nonetheless.]

[ Knoll would've been able to manage a small smile at the expression of gratitude if she weren't in this predicament. He'll also silently note how much of a struggle it was for her to even reach out of the pool... ]

It's no problem. If you need help with holding the book for a bit, I don't mind doing that as well.

No... it's fine. I just forgot what it felt like for a moment. If I can't survive this, there's no point in me pushing forward.
