( MINGLE - WEEK 3 )

SURVIVORS: 36

The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors.

The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel.

And speaking of the motel, it doesn't seem like there's anything out of the ordinary on this lovely Monday morning. How quaint.

As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 3! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Without any murders we can't have a murdergame, so go forth and let the bodies hit the floor!

As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions!

[He smiles a bit.] I wrote down all the remaining roles that aren't weapon roles. I'm trying to puzzle out what they might do. It could give us the upper hand if we work them out.

That's a good idea.

[Apollo takes out the Court Record, where he wrote some of the stuff from the role list they get to look at during the trials]

You know, I'm not sure yet what the Paranoid's role is supposed to mean, something about killing soulless beasts at night. I doubt that means the same than killing anyone who attacks them because that's what the Bomber does, so what does the Paranoid role do?

Well, have you ever read Lovecraft? Or, um, seen any of the movies? [He tries to doodle a Lovecraft monster on his paper for Apollo, which winds up looking like a bunch of tentacles in a ball. Which, in fairness, isn't that off.] This is kind of what they look like in movies! There are all sorts of foul beasts, though I'm not sure if the Paranoid just... kills them by existing or if it's their job?

[And there's the problem that Dave fought a monster in the electrical room, despite the fact that the Paranoid should still be alive.]

No, never. I'm not a fan of horror stuff... [He grimaces at the doodle. Look at those creepy balls with tentacles, ew. Why couldn't he have been brought to a normal murder motel without lovecraftian monsters?] I'm more into science fiction, and this is far from that.

[Still, that Paranoid role doesn't seem too useful for everyone]

I think it's just by existing, but only if those...things start roaming around. There must be some way their role could be of use, but how?

Maybe there's something we don't know about night that could make it beneficial to explore then? [The curfew is a thing but he isn't sure how it works. People seem to be murdered after curfew? He can't tell but it seems like it.]

That could be it! It's worth a try [Apollo crosses his arms] But I don't think whoever that person is would be willing to put their lives in risk unless there's something to offer, a reward or something like that.

What'd you risk your life for if it meant getting out of here?

Risk is... difficult. For me, for example, I did risk a lot to sleuth out possible clues but... [He gestures at his leg.] I can't push it too much further myself, for my friend's sake. If it weren't for him, I would keep poking around.

I have been thinking about taking a risk like this one too, but the more stuff happens the more nervous I feel.

It makes me feel a bit useless, to be honest.

[Maybe Apollo should stick to the trials and the reasoning]

Everyone has a talent! I'm certain you must have some. Mine's always been, well, physical. Guns and adventuring and so forth. If yours aren't, well, we certainly need a sturdy brain in trials.

I think I'm pretty good at trials, but I'd feel better if I could do something to stop them from happening in the first place.

[Apollo leans back on his seat]

You must be very brave to have done something like what you did. How long have you been adventuring?

[personal profile] potentite 2017-06-07 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, golly, umm... Actively for three years? I didn't venture too far until I was thirteen.

It's still a bit impressive you were adventuring when you were thirteen!

[He smiles.] Well thank you. I was a bit ashamed of myself for holing up so long but I suppose it wasn't too bad.
