( MINGLE - WEEK 3 )

SURVIVORS: 36 The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it doesn't seem like there's anything out of the ordinary on this lovely Monday morning. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 3! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Ah, well, maybe you could try asking who around here is the Beautician? That way you get a pair of scissors for yourself.

I want to stay blonde, though..

[ she huffs. being blonde is way more fun okay ]

I dunno that they'd wanna be that forthright about having a weapon either. Unless you're confessing to me in a super coy way.

[perceptions]

Ah, I didn't know you dyed it that way. [She perks up a little. At least someone in this gross town has style.] Scissors aren't really much of a weapon. I'd sooner use them to give people makeovers.

[ungodly]

Yup. My dad used to make me, but then I started to kinda like it. It's like my trademark, I guess.

[ she doesn't even realize that sounds a little weird. ]

I dunno, though. Someone got hardcore murdered to death with a pen. Anything's possible through the power of Elder Ones.

[perceptions]

The pen murder is definitely new. Points for creativity if nothing else. [Her shoulders shrug as she bottles the nail polish. Toes need to dry off now.] Why did your dad make you dye your hair? My mom went nuts when I even so much as joked about getting a tattoo.

[ungodly]

Um, it's complicated. And.. weird.

[ she shifts her weight in her legs a few times, lightly shuffling about. ]

We were always being followed when I was a kid. So my hair was like.. a disguise, I guess. My real hair's almost black. [ anyway.. enough about being stalked ] Did you ever end up getting a tattoo? I can never decide on something I really want.

[perceptions]

Wow, that sounds like right out of the movies. [She beams, immediately interested.] I never got one no. Tattoos aren't really my thing. If you're going to do that to your body, you gotta make sure its something you won't regret later. I think I'd immediately regret anything I put on that I can't take off.

[ungodly]

I'll skip that movie.

[ especially considering the actual movie is terrible ]

That sounds like too much thought for something about, like, expressing yourself or whatever. You should just go with your gut. I guess you just stick to nails?

[perceptions]

Cosmetics in general. It's a lot of fun to just experiment with how your face can be made to look. I thought about going into it as a career once, but I realized I like doing my own more.
