( MINGLE - WEEK 2 )
![]() The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Storage room has unlocked itself overnight. How quaint. Welcome to Week 2's mingle, everyone! As of this week, we are now accepting murder proposals. If you're interested in having your character murder someone this week, please send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. We'll be contacting you on plurk over the week to finalize the details, or ask for rescheduling if necessary. As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

Yukina looks up in concern, wincing a little at the sudden movement - yes, that is most definitely going to bruise. But that's not important right now; it's not a fatal wound. If Dipper's going to be sick, though...]
If you're going to be ill, please don't worry about me. We should-
[She shifts a little to get to her feet.]
We should get you somewhere to lie down, if you're feeling sick...
[She totally latched onto the wrong thing there. She's fine, this is fine, she doesn't want to see a kid get sick to his stomach.]
no subject
Lie down? No, you lie down! [he takes a deep breath that works 0% for his guilt-ridden anxiety, and he just starts to... ramble.] Okay, that came out more aggressive than that should've been. But you just got shot! Sort of? You shouldn't be getting up! Or maybe you should and we should get out of here, because I never want to see this shooting range again, ever. Shooting people is the worst? Why am I telling you this, I shot you. Okay, alright, just ... take it easy and we'll go check you out at the clinic. Or I can get a real doctor-- wait, no we don't have a doctor. Why don't we have a doctor. People murder each other here, why do we not have a doctor. I'm so sorry, you're going to die because I shot you and we don't have any doctors.
[is he even listening to the words coming out of his own mouth? probably not. he has however gotten Over Himself enough to latch onto Yukina and try to help hold her up like she is Truly Wounded instead of badly bruised, so that's... something?]
no subject
...not that she can really blame him - if she was in his position, she would be freaking out, too. It's why she doesn't resist when he moves to help her up, and why she doesn't interrupt him. It's probably better to let him get it out of his system now.
Instead, she smiles in thanks, and once he's satisfied that she's standing, she presses one hand to her stomach.
It's a mistake. The bruise forming there is raw and tender, and she can't help but wince, but... when she pulls her hand away, her fingers are clean, and she turns her hand out to him so he can see.]
...it wasn't a real bullet. I'd be bleeding if it was... I think. [She tries to smile reassuringly.] You didn't do anything wrong - you were just startled. It's okay, really.
no subject
Not a real bullet. Okay. Okay, that's-- that's good. But what if it was some kind of Lovecraftian horror bullet? We should still go check it out. I don't know anything about bullet wounds, but I can probably recognize a curse wound? Or we could get you some ice. We do at least have a freezer. [a beat as he thinks about it] Or I can leave you alone forever because I did just shoot you. Accidentally or not.
no subject
[Okay, she... hadn't actually considered that, but with their luck, that would be the case with one of these bullets, wouldn't it? Her brows furrow a little in concern and she casts a doubtful look down at her stomach.
...the last thing Dipper says gets her to snap her head back up, though.]
That's not necessary! I know you didn't mean to hurt me... I'm not mad at you or anything. If you'd like to look it over to make sure everything's okay, then I appreciate your help.

[see dipper you have good ideas it's okay time to calm down... but they'll be heading for the clinic, then.]
If I may ask... what were you doing in here, anyway? Before I interrupted you...
no subject
Investigating. The general stuff, looking for clues and seeing if anything was different from last week, to see if I can't find some kind of secret... [he trails off as he reconsiders the question and expands:] Uh, but if you meant in there specifically, I was trying to figure out if those guns were loaded? Because having a bunch of loaded guns smack-dab in the center of murdertown seemed like a bad idea.
[and... it was... but because of dipper. woops]
no subject
Ah... well, you're not wrong about that.
[THE TWO OF THEM ARE LIVING PROOF.]
But at least we know that they don't have real bullets, so that's a good thing that was uncovered today.
no subject
[Dipper ... Let It Go. The clinic is in view by now though, at least?]
We're almost there! And now here's hoping people didn't completely steal all of the medicine yet.
no subject
[let it go, let it goooo]
It might be worth bringing up. I'm sure there's at least one person here who has experience handling guns. [there's probably at least one person here who could kill someone with a blank, too, but... she won't say that] ...with any luck, there will still be supplies there! I didn't get everything organized just so someone could steal it all.
no subject
[there would've been at least one loud DUDE, ok. and dipper also had that same thought when it came to potential murder, tbh, but he will concentrate on making a face at Yukina's Hopes And Dreams]
They stole literally ever single kitchen knife. I have no hope in this place.
no subject
[If he'd meant to, though? She'd be furious. But he's just a child - it's fine if she forgives him.
Into the clinic they go. Yukina takes a quick look around, then purses her lips. ...there are definitely some things missing, even at first glance.]
Your expectations were more realistic than mine, it seems.
[COME ON, GUYS]
no subject
[being in the clinic is just... dipper deadpan staring at it. why is everyone like this.]
Is everyone in this motel a kleptomaniac? Is that what's happening here? We have a serious thieving problem.
no subject
[But. Not at him. Just deal with it, Dipper, the only blame you're getting is from yourself.]
...I can understand wanting to have some on hand just in case it's needed, but... just the clinic's existence should have been enough. There was no reason to take so much of this.
no subject
No one needs a scalpel "just in case". And yet, that's what most people have chosen to take. That's just asking for people to get stabbed to death.
[on that Cheerful(TM) note, dipper starts to rummage through the clinic, grabbing some bandages (in case), ointment and painkillers]
It looks like we've still got enough stuff left to check out your wound, though. Which is hopefully just a bruise and not some kinda festering curse. [this is not helping anyone, dippydoo.]
no subject
[Guess who's not a very creative murderer? THIS GIRL. Which is hilarious, considering her twin would probably have "murder" on his profile card if he was here.]
...I'm sure it's... just a bruise. [Curse bullets can't really be a thing. Right? ...right?? Okay, maybe she's a little freaked out about the idea.]
no subject
[.... who let this child watch tv unsupervised. Dipper, who doesn't realize Yukina is getting a bit Freaked, just goes on]
Usually if it's a physical curse it should be visible, I think? So we'll see. Um... [wait. w a i t] I can turn around when you lift up your...? Uhhhh. Just tell me if it looks weird????
[the bruise is on the stomach, dipper, chill.]
no subject
...I had hoped... a lot of those things in horror movies were just for dramatic effect.
[sweats nervously.
Yukina's wearing a kimono, though, so the best way to check her stomach isn't going to be to lift up her skirt. SO. She nods slowly, turns away from him, and reaches back to untie her sash so that she can open it at the front to take a better look.]
It's... okay, I think? It looks like it's going to be a regular bruise.
[Not that she's showing him.]
There aren't any weird marks or anything.
no subject
[DOES IT, DIPPER. DOES IT???
anyway dipper is Glad he doesn't have to see a girl naked (screams) and also that yukina isn't dying or anything. he is genuinely relieved. he is definitely hiding his face in his hands just in case.]
Okay! Great. Just put some salve on it and take some painkillers and you'll be good to go. It'll be almost like I never shot you. Why would I say that.
no subject
[yikes
But Yukina nods, and reaches for a bottle of painkillers (wincing as she does, and hoping he won't see) before screwing the top off and shaking a pill into her hand.]
Thank you for the advice. [She smiles.] ...I'd like to pretend you didn't shoot me. That is, I don't want you to feel guilty about it. I'll recover, so when the bruise goes away... we can both just forget about it, all right?
no subject
[he'd. also like to pretend he didn't shoot her, he's just a worrywart]
no subject
[While they're sorting that out, she's just going to make sure her clothes are back on and her sash is tied. This is fine.]
Don't worry. It's okay.
