SURVIVORS: 32 The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the buildings surrounding the motel, it seems like the Library is now open. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 4! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. I have burn ointment... it's in my jacket pocket. I think he needs it more than I do right now.

A little at a time, whenever he's ready to start. Alcohol...? [ the scalpel is...appreciated, mostly. DO THEY EVEN HAVE SKIN TO GRAFT FOR HIM, SHIT. her mention of alcohol - it sounds dumb and like it's out of the blue, but maybe someone here is able to piece together that she thinks it might help his pain tolerance.

kaiba's advice is noted with a serious expression and nod. it's good to have people who think quick like him around, and she gets the feeling he does well thinking on his feet. he's smart, so hajime trusts him. ] To numb him, right? Ah, maybe it'll make things come looser easier, too... Make sure it's wrapped tight. Infection equals totally awful.

[ ryou's settled onto his bed. hajime quickly pushes away several pieces of paper and a few blue bows left on his bed - if you're quick enough, it seems like hajime's drawn a few letters scolding him for disappearing on her, and left them on his bed in case he comes back before she knew about it.

when he's comfortable, she looks to yukina and shakes her head. ]

No, he needs you right now. Relax here with him. Keep talking to him. [ with a smile, she reaches out to pat yukina's shoulder encouragingly. ] I think your voice is what he needs more than our's right now.

[ well he's late to the party, but percy enters with his first aid kit. he draws out an arrangement of ointments, septic and sanitized bandages. ]

You seem to have most of what you need already. Be sure to apply the septic and ointment before you bandage his wounds. I'll be here if you require any further instruction or assistance — I treated your burns while you were unconscious, after all.

[ Once the bandages are prepped, he's going to give Yukina a look, and then leave for the kitchen. It takes a while but he eventually comes back with some ice and a couple of pieces of damp cloths.

Percival's arrival is definitely welcome because oh thank god, someone with actual proper medical supplies instead of whatever primitive shit they've been making do with. He's going to take the ice out of the bag and use it more to clean the wounds with cold water rather than to actually ice the thing, because frostbite is a Bad Idea and the whole point is more to clean the wound first anyway. ]

Yukina, the burn ointment?

[ He's going to ask as he's dabbing the wound dry with the cloth. ]

[wow what is this judgment she can feel from you, kaiba.

But as he goes to do that and the others bustle around getting treatment ready, she readjusts at Ryou's bedside, reaching for one of his hands and giving it a light squeeze. She's honestly not sure if he can hear them, but...]

Hey, Ryou-san. You... you made it back. [She won't waste time chiding him - she's pretty sure that, once he's conscious, he'll absolutely know he was taking risks.] You're going to be okay. We're here to help you.

[She'll keep talking softly to him as the others work. When Kaiba returns and asks for the ointment, she fishes it out of her pocket and holds it out to him with her other hand.]

[ Ok so.

Going from [redacted] to this - being surrounded by people he doesn't immediately recall - causes Ryou to startle. He can't really squirm or fuss due to his injuries, and he figures that out pretty quickly, but he's still Very Panicked. ]

What-- where am I?!

[ He's breathing rapidly, someone make sure he doesn't hyperventilate :/ ]

[jumps back in here because i think it's about to get busy at work again]

You're in your room, at the motel. You're safe now.

[As... safe as anyone can be in a murder motel, anyway. The hand that isn't holding his comes up to smooth some of his hair down and brush it away from his face.]

Hajime-san is here. Andersen-san, Kaiba-san, and Percival-san, too. [She tries to keep her voice low and soothing.] We're here to help you.

[and y'all can just assume that she keeps trying to reassure him as they work at treating his wounds in case i get busy and can't tag back in right away]

[ good, good. her biggest worry right now is keeping ryou awake, and yukina appears to be doing that well. she'd puy her hands on her hips and smile at the room fondly but her arms are still healing. instead, she smiles and watches as everyone gets to task. ]

Ryoomie is really cared about. I'm gonna get more ice and look for more bandages. Yell if you need me before I get back.

[ you'll be fine, she thinks, and skedaddles so i can get back to work,,, ]

[ Ten thousand years late but yeah Kaiba's going to leave so that he can leave Yukina and Hajime to handle the rest once he's done bandaging up some of Ryou's more serious burns. Bye guys. ]
