( MINGLE - WEEK 4 )

SURVIVORS: 32

The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors.

The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel.

And speaking of the buildings surrounding the motel, it seems like the Library is now open. How quaint.

As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 4! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Remember that we can't have a murdergame without any murders, so go forth and let the bodies hit the floor.

As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions!

[ this small child has taken quite a load upon himself, but at least he's working vigorously? from the next sink over, percival eyes dipper, noting how he peers into the water.

well. alright. ]

Give me some of your clothes. You can't possibly handle that much on your own.
pinesfortruth: (im 12 and what is this)

[personal profile] pinesfortruth 2017-06-13 07:27 am (UTC)(link)
[there's a second of hesitation before dipper's hatred for washing his clothes wins out over his pride and wish to be seen as A Grown-Up, and he dumps a armful on Percival]

Sure, okay. Here you go.

[dad no now he'll never learn that's parenting 101]

[ wow, that was unexpectedly easy. he takes the load, placing it into his own sink and working at it immediately. his pace and verocity are a little frightening — his gaze is affixed on the clothes before him...and his features are steeled with determination. ]

You need to start washing your clothes more frequently — you let it pile up, didn't y...

[ before he can begin his lecture, he just...flops over? he falls forward, his head now in the sink? the man is passed out, help? ]

pinesfortruth: ([dipper voice] UUAARGGHHH)

[personal profile] pinesfortruth 2017-06-13 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, good, he fainted. Saved me that lecture.

[wait]

PERCIVAL?????

[dipper flails in place for a second before rushing to the man, dragging him out of the water (and, probably, throwing him on the ground) with a surprising amount of strength for such noodle-y arms, all the while muttering to himself:]

Please don't make me have to use CPR again, please, please, please...

[ light is visible through the slit of his eyes, and he awakes on the floor and to a panicked child. his hair is wet..ugh. first thing's first: ]

You let your clothes pile up, didn't you? If they aren't attended to weekly, you'll simply exhaust yourself. I expect to see you here 7 days from now. You can hardly afford to be sloppy now.

[ and without a word, he gets back onto his feet, returning to his load. ]

If I fall asleep again, don't concern yourself with it. [ yawn. ] This'll likely be happening for some time.

pinesfortruth: (why do i have this. is he poopin)

[personal profile] pinesfortruth 2017-06-13 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
[... he went right back to lecturing...

it is both impressive and horrifying, though dipper decides to just be offended by it]

"Don't concern"-- are you insane? You nearly drowned! Go take a nap or something!!
lohengrins: (39)

[personal profile] lohengrins 2017-06-13 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
A nap won't help me. I simply have to wait. [ he rings out one of dipper's shirts, now placing it in his pile of Effectively Scrubbed Down Clothing. ] If it happens again, pinch one of my wounds.

[ percival dunks another shirt into the mix, intent on working away at this disastrous load. ]

More importantly, something's bothering you. What is it?
pinesfortruth: (academy award winner suicide squad???)

[personal profile] pinesfortruth 2017-06-13 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[s q u i n t s]

... Are you narcoleptic???

[swing and a miss, dipper. swing and a miss. he has stopped even pretending to work on his own stuff, simply standing on his tip toes to watch percival work in case he drowns, again. the question just gets a dismissive noise out of him]

You mean besides being a month into the "murder motel ritual sacrifice extravaganza"?
lohengrins: (48)

[personal profile] lohengrins 2017-06-14 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
As of now, I suppose. It's temporary — it always is. [ not a miss, dipper! despite this, there's no way to quite make sense of what percival's saying. another shirt is scrubbed down, and he draws out a pair of boxers from the load.

he scrunches his nose and begins to work at them nonetheless. ]

Obviously. You were peering into the [ yawn. ] water before you spoke to me. Also, get back to scrubbing — do you intend to stay here all day? Because you...will be... [ his eyes close again, and he shakes his head in some attempt to wake up. ] ...at this rate.
pinesfortruth: (uhhhh why)

[personal profile] pinesfortruth 2017-06-14 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
That sounds like a serious medical condition, dude, not a thing that's "temporary". [he isn't cowed by Percival trying to get him to help, though, continuing to stand there with a frown]

I'm making sure you don't drown trying to help me do laundry. That would be the lamest way to go in this place. All the things trying to kill you and a snoozefest is what does it? [...but he should probably answer the question] I was looking into the water because I was washing clothes. Do you usually do it with your eyes closed?? Is that why you're so okay falling asleep in them?

[#believable]
