SURVIVORS: 32 The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the buildings surrounding the motel, it seems like the Library is now open. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 4! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Were you... Friends with her? Or something?

Oh, not at all. I only spoke to her a few times.

[ SHRUGS ]

We had this talk where she told me how we shouldn't trust anyone because they could be lying to you. I already knew that, of course, but it's just kind of funny now in hindsight.

That's a weird thing to point out, in a place like this. But... I guess she was just fucked up. [ like, saying that kind of thing is practically just taunting in secret. ]

... She painted my nails for me. I've been trying to chip it off.

[ninjay]

You should try the medical alcohol that's in the clinic.

[ unless people stole that i guess ]

If there's any left.

[ but sass aside ] Thanks. I'll check later.

It's not a sharp object that you can potentially lodge into someone's skull, so I'm sure there's still some left.

Yeah, it wasn't one of the things I thought to take right away, either.

It probably just didn't seem that crucial, in the grande scheme of things.

[ which is murder.

but also, jay isn't that surprised about clementine taking stuff considering what he knows about where she's from. ]

[ she holds out her hands to look at her fingernails. There's still black on them, but it's clear she's been chipping it all off whenever she's bored. ]

... I didn't like it, anyway.

[ he looks down at her nails when she outstretches them. ]

Too much maintenance to keep up with, I think.

It takes so much time, and it's totally pointless, anyway!

A lot of things are pointless, but we still do them anyway.

[ he is pretty sure he's seen multiple people playing some card game around. ]

[ at least card games are fun??? ]

Guess so.

So. Done anything pointless lately? Besides promising to keep a dumb pipe.

I've been reading in my spare time mostly.

[ which he doesn't find pointless, but it's still hard to fully concentrate on it considering everything that's going on. ]

That's a good hobby to have, now that the library's open. Even if there's a big monster in there.

[ninjay]

[ he makes a face. ]

It's just going to smell worse as time goes by. Apparently Craftly's staff only cleans the motel.
