SURVIVORS: 32 The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the buildings surrounding the motel, it seems like the Library is now open. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 4! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. [oddly enough Dipper was already heading to the Disposal Room, for some reason. and now there it is. with the door wide open. and other people there]

[ It seems like fate was kind to these three boys. You guys are the Cthulhu Goonies, it seems.

Anyway.

Since Kaiba is first, he can see the darkened interior, only a few reflective metal surfaces in the distance bounce the light off. From the little light shining inside, the entire group can vaguely see a metal table or counter in the corner of the room. Maybe someone should find a light switch. ]

Nothing is going as expected in this place.

[ Vague exasperation? Condescension? Who even knows???

Either way yeah sure he'll oblige, he'll feel along the length of the wall closest to him before he locates a light switch. He may or may not flick it on with a little bit more force than necessary. ]

[ Because Kaiba is so fucking angry and mad, the light flips on with a harsh force and immediately, the light bulb in the room bursts.

[Good job, Kaiba. He squints from that and just kind of. Sighs.]

[ Now that they can properly see the room, but it's still not quite lit up due to baby flashlight and his tentative position in the back of the group. What they can see is the room is some sort of medical room akin to a morgue. The aforementioned metal table was lined with surgical tools, all chained to the side. So no stealing.

Venture forward? ]

[ HE'S NOT SORRY????? But he will ask Craftly to replace the bulbs later I guess bc that's the job of the faceless men am I right.

He'll step aside for a bit so that Dipper's flashlight can illuminate more of the room when it's not being blocked by his lanky ass body, and he'll make sure that he's still within the light when he steps forward and closer to the metal table. ]

... at this point I'm not even surprised there's a morgue in here.

I did worry 'disposal' meant of bodies rather than trash.

[Also Dipper get back here you little reckless runt. He's going to stick close to Dipper to try to keep him from wandering into a gurney full of rotting corpses or something.]

[ Since Dipper has the power, what he'll see with a flick of his wrist with his trusty flashlight is the back wall. There are countless square doors, a total of 41 if anyone was keen on counting them. There are a few makeshift labels on some of them, all pointing to those who have died. Not all are labeled, however. Curious!!!

Kaiba would be able to see Jason Todd's name. Jake? He'll see Dave Strider's name. ]

Hn. [ HE'S HEARING YOUR SHADE, DIPPER, BUT HE IS IGNORING IT. ]

They're keeping the bodies for their... ritual.

[ Like. He's going to actually sound upset at this??? But whatever, he's looking at the door with Jason Todd's name on it. He's going to step forward and try and see if the door can be opened, or if it's locked? ]

[Oh. Jake frowns. Dirk might not be pleased about Dave's body being shoved in here but it's not like they have anywhere better to bury it, either. The garden is nice enough for Yuggoth but keywords "for Yuggoth". Though if it's for a ritual, ugh.

Also Kaiba stop disturbing the dead. Except he only thinks that because Kaiba is intimidating.]

So... is there one for each of us? Aren't there supposed to be three left alive at the end?

[He didn't count them but there does look like enough for all of them, he thinks?]

[Dipper was going to check them out but since Kaiba's already trying to open one, like a creeper (implying dipper wasn't going to try) he instead quickly counts off]

1234... [continues to mumble numbers until--] 41. Wait, forty-one? There were forty-two of us at the start.

[that's worrying enough for Dipper to try to look around some more to see what he can see while still. leaving some light for Kaiba to not get murdered by the a corpse fridge in the dark.

[ Kaiba is rewarded for his efforts. The moment he turns the latch on the door for Jason Todd, a flat bed slides out on a track, presumably like typical morgues. Cold smoke indicating how chilly it is (watch ur nips) leaks into the room but dissipates soon after.

Instead of seeing Jason Todd's body, they'll see... bits of his body. His organs have been neatly organized, his limbs chopped into pieces. Arms with arms, legs with legs. His head rests at the top of the slab, mouth open and tongue missing. Next to the head, an empty jar with chemicals is labeled "TONGUE".

Dipper, my sweet summer mcmurder child, as he turns just a bit to the left he'll find a similar metal counter. Instead of surgical equipment, dipper can see a few jars filled with .... well, some type of organ? It looks like hearts.

Will Dipper walk forward to examine? Maybe Jake? POSSIBLY BOTH? ]

[ THANKS DIPPER although thankfully no murder will be happening in this thread today, hopefully, since Kaiba's not about to get killed by reanimated corpse/metal gurney.

It's only sheer willpower that keeps him from recoiling in disgust at the dissected body, although he will note the missing tongue from the jar and from Jason's severed head before he pushes the flat bed back into its original place. ]

Perhaps the intention behind saying that three would be left alive at the end was to give a sense of false hope. [ well, someone sounds jaded. ] Seems more like a battle royale, last person standing, winner takes all.

[ He's not going to open the next door yet, considering that there are other things to explore in this room, probably. ]

[Great. Just what Jake wanted after Sunday: more dismemberment. God, he can't even look at a meat product right now without wanting to puke let alone this but he's in here and they need to figure out as much as possible to get out of this. He considers opening Dave's, to see, well, just to see it but instead decides to try one of the unlabeled ones, mostly just wanting to confirm it's empty. Dipper can go stick his fingers in arteries or whatever.]

I don't think that's the case? I mean, um, it could very well be, but Craftly did tell me about a previous round's winners. I don't think he was lying.

[dipper is absolutely going to go check those hearts out, because they are in jars and that makes it less horrible than seeing the things NOT in jars, thanks. are they labelled? what do they look like???

he is still trying to keep the flashlight so that other people can see, but it's obviously gonna be directed more at the hearts now. sorry guys]

If three people are meant to survive this for real, and one fridge is missing, then maybe... [he trails off] Can one of you check for Mira's name on those? [and if it's not missing, then he's got more wacky theories!!!! they're all terrible.]

[ As Jake tries to open one of the doors, he'll find that the ones that are unlabeled are locked. However, if he tugs at the latch on a labeled one, let's say Omega, they'll find a similar collection of assorted body parts. Some items missing, but honestly? It looks like their teeth and fingers are all in tact and accounted for. :)

Dipper can see that each jar is neatly labeled except for one which seemed more like a jagged swift motion, almost like it was ravenous and animalistic. That jar is labeled Mira. The neater ones are noted as Jason, Hana, Hibiki, Omega, Kamui, and Vincent. They are all human hearts, so put two and two together Hardy Boys. ]

Hn. If I were running a similar game, I wouldn't leave three survivors. One is enough.

[ he'll... leave it at that because he's not going to have this conversation right now. ]

Mira's name is here. [ He'll point to the corresponding door, and then also at the jar with her... heart... in it.

He'll make a noise of disgust at how different it is from the rest though??? Mostly because it's disgusting but also because items animalistic and uncouth and what the fuck why are y'all harvesting human hearts. ]

...Dave Strider's heart is missing. As are the... victim's... from last week.

[Jake shuts Omega's drawer - bye Omega, thank you your help - and frowns as he comes closer to look at them.]

Well. Mira did say 'six' but... what happened to the rest?

We've got seven hearts, but ten dead. That had to be her idea, so... what happened to the others one? We're missing... Dave, Marty, and Rachel. Marty and Rachel I can get, they were all. Uh. Torsoed out. But what happened to Dave's?

[ Fun fact: Omega's skull was missing eyes. Spoopy.

The hearts were all neatly organized — as if it was absolutely strategic and purposeful. There was nothing else to note with the morgue freezers, but as they look around, they'll feel a sudden pain in their heads. All of their temples ache with pain the closer they get to the hearts until a deep, guttural voice booms in their heads.

Don't. Touch.

Luckily, Dipper gets the right idea to check things out — seems like the most interesting thing left is.... the exit. ]

[ THE LIGHT, AT LEAST. Not the murder game, but hell if he's going to admit to anyone that. ]

Maybe there's a reason why they're not here, if they were... unsuited, for whatever purpose.

[ Guess who's the first casualty of the spoopy voice and the pain? Yeah, this guy, because he was about to make a move to actually take one of the containers to take a closer look at the jars to see if there was anything that could identify who could be behind all this creepy organ harvesting and shit.

Yeah, guess that's not happening when he stumbles back.

Have a muted glare at the heart jars, but he'll motion towards the exit since there's nothing else in the room thank you meta text.]

[Oh jesus christ. Jake covers his ears when it happens, eyes squeezed shut, not that it actually blocks it out. But fuck. Okay. That sure is a sign from above.]

Well. Uh. I guess we should... tell everyone anyway...

[Jake will walk with Dipper just to make sure nothing launches out of the room at him. Look Jake doesn't trust these rooms after Dave got mauled by a monster in one?]
