( MINGLE - WEEK 4 )
![]() The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the buildings surrounding the motel, it seems like the Library is now open. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 4! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Remember that we can't have a murdergame without any murders, so go forth and let the bodies hit the floor. As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

[Wherever she goes, Velvet is sneezing and coughing and generally not looking too well... It doesn't look like Velvet's doing anything to deal with that, though, since she's still walking around in her normal attire and going about her usual daily activities. After a huge sneeze, she mutters to herself,]
What the hell... did someone manage to smuggle a cat in here...
[Daemons can't catch colds. Even after being in a pool all night. And never wearing clothes. They can't.]
II. KITCHEN - TUESDAY
[As always, Velvet's in the kitchen. She might not be cooking for Dave anymore, but she's still cooking. This time, she's gathered a large amount of apples. She grabs one and begins to grate it into a bowl.]
III. LIBRARY - THURSDAY
[While part of her is drawn to the books, for Laphicet's sake, she can't help focusing on that daemon's corpse. Especially with other things going on this week... Velvet approaches the corpse and brandishes her arm. Nothing happens. Her arm is still human and bandaged, but she places her hand on its flesh as if expecting something.]
Of course... that'd be too good to be true, wouldn't it?
IV. WILDCARD
[As always feel free to let me know if you wanna do something else with Velvet!]
library - thursday;
[ As long as he doesn't focus on himself, everything will be fine. Totally fine.
This is probably also another reason why he came to the library, but still. ]

[She releases her grip and turns around to face him, her bandaged arm held out like a weapon.]
I thought I might be able to consume this thing, but no such luck.

[ He looks back at the rotting, monstrous corpse, making sure to give it a wide berth. ]

[She lets out a small sigh.]
Since I arrived here, I haven't been able to use my arm, but this week... It felt like I was back to normal. But if I can't even devour anything, there's no point.

[ Knoll doesn't quite recall her mentioning the word 'therion' before--and this was one distraction at least.
He supposes the rest of what she's said has to do with what was detailed in that envelope. This is why he's not looking at his hands. ]

Monday
[Apollo's pretty sure there's no cat around here...as far as they know. Maybe one of the lovecraftian monsters is part cat or something]

[Don't say it with such a 'I'm so proud of my intelligence' smile on your face, Apollo]
I heard you were exposed to the pool's water for a long time, that'd explain it.

[She says with a "I'm so proud of my being a daemon" smile on her face, before realizing she also shouldn't be able to taste things as a daemon.]
Or I haven't in a long time. Is this what it's like...?

[might as well be honest when she's snooping like this.]

[She says as she keeps grating the apples. Very important apples.]
But I can make you something else. Any preferences?
no subject
[what's she even grating the apples for, Quer wants to know. a mystery is worth uncovering, even when it's this small.]
