( MINGLE - WEEK 4 )
![]() The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the buildings surrounding the motel, it seems like the Library is now open. How quaint. As a reminder, we are now accepting murder proposals for Week 4! If you're interested in having your character commit a murder this week, be sure to send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. Remember that we can't have a murdergame without any murders, so go forth and let the bodies hit the floor. As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

[The criminal always returns to the scene of the crime.
Which is to say, when Yukina notices that the library is unlocked, she... can't keep herself from venturing inside, although her last visit was disastrous. She's still wearing Akira's hoodie (and likely will be for the rest of the week, unless he asks for it back), so she takes a deep breath and adjusts the hood as she looks around.
...the monster corpse makes her grimace.]
There's no way we'll be able to clean that up...
[rest in pieces, fluffy]
kitchen - tuesday;
[Look. She's been trying to develop a taste for coffee.
But sometimes, there's just nothing better than a good cup of tea, so Yukina can be found here, boiling water to start brewing it. She looks up when she hears footsteps -
And smiles, though there's something a little strained in her expression.]
Oh, hello! Would you like to join me?
lobby - wednesday;
[Yukina doesn't intend to be vain, but something she sees gives her pause as she's passing the mirror by the lobby's exit, and she steps in front of it to face it head on. Slowly, she brings a hand up to her forehead and brushes her bangs aside.
A moment later, she gasps.]
What is that- How is it...?!
[She seems a little. Well.
Distressed.]
botanical garden - thursday;
[She came here intending to relax.
...but, clearly relaxing is not happening. Yukina can't bring herself to stay still, so she's pacing restlessly among the flowers, occasionally stopping for a moment or two to examine a blossom before turning away from it and continuing her walk.
She's mumbling under her breath.]
...end this. There has to be a way to end this...
anywhere - anytime;
[Wildcard time! Want to plot something out? Hit me up by PM or at
kitchen - tuesday;
He notices the strain, but doesn't comment upon it. ]
Yes, I wouldn't mind. What kind of tea are you making?
no subject
[The tin she found is just labeled "tea". It's not green tea, which is what she's used to, but... it'll do.]
But I've made it a few times before, and it's not bad. [She'll grab a second cup, then! So that once the tea is done brewing, she can pour them both some.]
no subject
I don't think I've had much of tea in this place as it's been mostly 'coffee'--so it'll be nice going back to something familiar.
[ The man patiently waits, while the tea is brewing. ]

[A watched pot never boils, or so they say, but... Yukina's watching the pot. Oh, well.]
I've been trying to learn to drink it black, but I haven't quite managed it yet. It's so bitter.
no subject
[ ... ]
... I tried drinking it black once. Granted, it wasn't in its best state at the time--but it was unbearable. But, I believe if I had to choose...it'd be black tea instead of black coffee.

[She gives the corpse a wary look, though.]
...the blood of a monster from this place is what caused... this, though. [She gestures at the bandage on her face.] I'd worry that someone might get hurt, touching this.
no subject
I guess we can all just step around it.
no subject
...we may have to. Most of the things in the hotel get cleaned up, but...
[This is outside of the hotel's jurisdiction.]

i play my wildcard in attack position
[ Ryou is... probably about as cheerful as he can be, given this past weekend, their general circumstance, and the fact that he's like, 100% Tiredâ„¢ all the time now.
But he's trying! ]
I got my deck back... Do you still want to play?
no subject
So, smiling brightly, she nods.]
I do! Let's take one of these tables over here...
no subject
Now I can show you spell and trap cards. [ He puts a green and purple card on the table: The Dark Door and Ouija Board, respectively. ]
See, Dark Door is continuous, which means it's effect will carry on through the game unless the card is removed from play... Same with Ouija Board.
no subject
So this one... [Her finger taps the Dark Door card.] It would be good if your opponent had a lot of very powerful monsters? And this other one... [The Oujia Board, she means.] You'd have to hope to get lucky enough to draw the Spirit Message cards...

thursday
What's wrong? Is it something I can help you with?
no subject
[Yukina turns to look at her, but her gaze is a little unfocused.]
It's these eyes. There are so many of them... but I can't see? [One of her hands comes up to brush her bangs away from her forehead. There's nothing there, but...]
I can't see out of this one. If I can't see... I might as well get rid of it, right?
no subject
[Akane can certainly understand. There are eyes, so many eyes, growing on her as well. On her face, on her arms, opening up at a rate that makes her worry they'll soon cover every inch of her skin.]
I don't think you should touch it. You'll just hurt yourself, and it should go away on its own anyway.
no subject
[She shudders, bringing her hand back down so that she can wrap her arms around herself.]
...I need to be rid of them... everyone else is suffering too. Can't we just cut them out of us?
no subject
I know it's terrible, Yukina. I want to get rid of them too. But we only have to wait one more day, okay? If they don't go away by morning, we can start looking into cutting them out.
lobby
[ He's never seen her staring so intensely at a mirror before, and with a distressed look at that. ]
What's the matter?
no subject
You can't... see it?
no subject
There's nothing there.
no subject
[It's all in her mind, probably. She knows that. But she swears she can feel the eye twitching under invisible eyelids, and when she glances at the mirror, it's still there.]
An eye. There's an eye, how can you not see it...?
