( INVESTIGATION - WEEK 2 )
![]() Promptly at 8:00 AM, both of the Grandfather clocks will begin to ring, the sound traveling to every corner of the motel. All residents will wake up as if it was any other morning. There's the usual hum from the air conditioner units and the sound of harsh wind blowing against the windows. While the sun may not have ever set, the amount of times the Grandfather clock rings makes it clear: it's time to get up and greet the brand new day. However... something seems off. Maybe it's a shiver of cold leaving a trail of frost on your skin or a burning sensation in your chest — but it feels like something is drawing you out of your room and into the outdoor hallways. Where will you go? Welcome to the investigation log! Please put the name of the location your character will be exploring in the subject header. If you plan on grouping up with someone else for a location, we ask that you keep it to 2-3 characters maximum. We'll be tagging in with the mod account at 6:10 PM EST to give everyone time to jump in. Happy body hunting! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard |

Someone is also desperately banging on said door. Maybe Mira should, uh, try to pry it open for them?]
no subject
doesn't want to????]
Is someone in there? ...You're not going to kill me if I open the door, right?
no subject
Maybe Mira should, uh
try the knob?]
no subject
So, whoever or whatever's in there isn't the talkative type. That's...always a good sign. [She rolls her shoulders back.] Hey, whoever's in there - if you can understand me, you'd better back up.
[because if Mira gives her the okay she is fucking KICKING THAT DOOR DOWN AS HARD AS POSSIBLE]
no subject
[WELL WHATEVER HAPPENS NOW, THANK ALOY FOR IT...]
1/3
That sure did happen.
Aloy will succeed in kicking the door down, ripping it clean off its hinges.
But that's not all—]
3/3
Oh jesus shitballing christ, peace?? Peace? White flag, fuck—
no subject
Holy shit! Sorry, I'm sorry - wait, why didn't you say anything?! I told you guys to back up first, I thought there was some kind of beast or machine behind there!
[okay but they're super seriously injured so she'll save the indignation at being called a gorilla (not that she knows what the fuck that is) and move on]
What happened? Quick, let's get you two to the clinic!
no subject
[NOT THAT SHE ISN'T GLAD TO SEE YOU GUYS, BUT MAN YOU REEK.]
Yeah let's get you idiots to a clinic - and a shower. Aloy, do you think you can carry Jake? Andersen at least has both his legs still.
no subject
Terribly sorry for the smell and the, um, lack of leg. I would appreciate a hand though, yes. We have to, um...
[He gestures at the bone awkwardly jutting out from the loose stitching on the stump of his leg. They need to cut that off, so....]
no subject
anyway, she'll lift Jake up carefully with both arms and adjust him into a bridal carry before arching her eyebrow at Andersen]
My arms are full, but do you, uh...want a lift on my shoulders? I can probably handle you both.
[save her]

no subject
[Actually wait.]
A week? Oh, goodness, no wonder I'm so tired... [They haven't slept really.]
no subject
also yeah this is definitely the look of someone who has no idea what a sewer is]
Did you find any food while you were there? We should get someone to grab you something to eat. We'll also need something that can numb your pain - I think I saw some herbs out in the garden that'll work - and...probably a saw.
[just. laying that out there super bluntly.]
no subject
[Sewers and amputation is not conductive for appetite?]
I wouldn't recommend going into the burnt out buildings without quite a few fellows to back you up, though. It's much more dangerous than you think.
no subject
I'm no healer, but I'll do what I can. You're going to have to eat once it's over though - no point in letting the blood loss kill you after you've come this far.
[The mention of danger just gets her to look intrigued, alas...] Noted. Whatever did this to you - do we need to worry about it coming back to finish the job while we're in the middle of this?
no subject
Yessiree, you have no need to fret over the sewer goddess making an appearance. It wasn't my cleanest shot but it did the trick.
no subject
[well whatever she was expecting them to have fought, IT SURE WASN'T THAT. Aloy will roll with it though, especially since they both seem proud of their accomplishment.]
Nice work putting it down, then! Sounds like you two have quite the story to tell once you're back on your feet. [or foot she has to work very hard to stop herself from saying]
