( MINGLE - WEEK 2 )
![]() The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Storage room has unlocked itself overnight. How quaint. Welcome to Week 2's mingle, everyone! As of this week, we are now accepting murder proposals. If you're interested in having your character murder someone this week, please send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. We'll be contacting you on plurk over the week to finalize the details, or ask for rescheduling if necessary. As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

She looks to him with a bit of hesitance, especially when he begins to pull it closer to him. She snatches it and holds it a bit tighter and begins tugging it back. ]
I still worry about this group. I'm not close with anyone or have friends, but ... we're all people who deserve a chance to live.
[ But when he mentions video game she narrows her eyes. ]
Um... it's more like being a good person. This sounds like this game is beyond our control... I'm not dumb enough to think I can stop it. Maybe just help people if they're trapped here too.

maybe he wants to take a peek. he likes taking peeks, after all. ]
I'd like to think we're friends. Some people would say it's best not to get too close, or otherwise things will only get worse for us... but... [ notice how he lets go as he thinks back on the events of this past weekend. ] It's senseless to lose hope. We have to work together, after all.
[ Nanami seems to be a very sensible person. she knows what she's doing, she is capable of acknowledging their situation and addressing her role and its capabilities. Akira smiles as he looks at her dead in the eyes, almost with an expression of admiration on his face. ]
You're pretty cool, Nanami-san.
[ that's all he has to say about that, tbh. ]

You think that? [ She offered her hairpin to him and said some kind words but there's a fear that - well, she won't live up to any expectation with friendships. Maybe the idle thoughts at the back of her mind are to blame, ] We really have to start working together then. All of us. There's too much at risk and not enough time in the day - I think - to act. That's what I hope to do here. If you have any tips for this place... I can write them down.
[ But He speaks so honestly and her face flushes hot. ]
Don't say that. It's just doing the right thing.

I do. Which reminds me...
[ he stops losing himself in her cuteness to stretch his legs out onto the floor, feet bumping up against the other side of the booth as he stands on his heels. his hands dig into his pocket for something, and when it's pulled out, she'll notice it's rather familiar. it is the very same hairpin she gave him last week, albeit modified into a lockpick that has since been broken. Akira is frowning when he presents it to her. ]
First off, I apologize. I've gone ahead and threw away all the other picks because they've become broken as well, but... this one seemed special. I wanted to return it to you.
[ she can't exactly. put it in her hair anymore, but hopefully she appreciates the gesture? ]

As she sees her familiar little triangle ship, it's pin straightened and unable to clip back together, she looks to him out of confusion, but — smiles softly. ]
You didn't need to, but thanks. [ Lazily, she reaches up, grasping it between her two fingers. ] I figured it would work, but I guess this place really is good about guarding it's restricted zones.

[ his frown persists before he forces it to disappear by briefly shaking his head. a smile appears again in its wake, and he reaches forward to grab her wrist just as she takes it back. ]
You'll tell me how I can repay you for wasting it, I hope. Name something that I can do for you and I will.

[ She shakes her head a bit when he tries to get some forgiveness for fucking her shit up. She sets the hairpin in front of her on the table with her walkthrough. ]
... Just tell me how you learned to make lockpicks? That will be good enough. ...I think.
