( MINGLE - WEEK 2 )
![]() The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Storage room has unlocked itself overnight. How quaint. Welcome to Week 2's mingle, everyone! As of this week, we are now accepting murder proposals. If you're interested in having your character murder someone this week, please send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. We'll be contacting you on plurk over the week to finalize the details, or ask for rescheduling if necessary. As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

[ obviously this is a uniquely heather moment, don't try to steal it from her jay >:( ]
Either way, the room's useless. I dunno why they bothered opening it.

[ i mean, jay is pretty sure you can probably beat someone to death with one if you hit hard enough, but. he isn't going to voice that opinion just in case there is a mannequin death?? he doesn't want people pointing fingers at him. ]

[ there is that survivalist part of her that's curious about what could be in there, too, but she definitely didn't want to go in alone. so if jay will go in.. she'll peek in behind, just to see. ]

You have to wonder why it took them so long to unlock this door for us.

I dunno. My guess would be to give us more murder fodder, but there's nothing super useful in here. Just.. boxes.

It looks like... chemicals? [ jay lifts up a bottle. ] Cleaning supplies.

[ thank you heather, very helpful. don't give jay any ideas. ]
I bet that's why they unlocked this room. Everything is just.. placed here for us to use. It's like the set of a shitty play.

[ the joke is that some people are actually using it for cleaning in this post. ]
Although going by our track record, I'm sure all of this will get stolen in about a day or two.

[ hello welcome from the world of horror games where nothing is ever used for it's intended purpose and logic is made up ]
Look, you gotta pocket some stuff when it's life or death or tentacling. I can't blame anyone for it, just get mad I didn't beat them to it.

[ he repeats that part lamely, his expression a mix of amusement and curiosity. ]

[ she's laid it flat on the table, unfurled the paper, read it front and back, and given jay a parking citation. it explains itself sweetie. ]

[ ... ]
Unless you want to get friendly with Craftly, which I would highly recommend against doing.

[ which, honestly, is on the table at this point. ]
Wonder what the fascination with Eldritch horrors is here..

[ no one will ever understand how annoyed jay is about the fact that he doesn't know anything about lovecraft. he should request shit by him at the front desk. ]

I'm not a fan of either.
[ it's... not a lie. ]

I'm not the one who doesn't want to go into a storage closet.
