( MINGLE - WEEK 2 )

SURVIVORS: 40

The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors.

The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel.

And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Storage room has unlocked itself overnight. How quaint.

Welcome to Week 2's mingle, everyone! As of this week, we are now accepting murder proposals. [ Akira notices Seto in a familiar position, yet their roles seem to be reversed. instead of him swooping in to slam down a card only to declare he is stealing all of Seto's Life Points, however, he will stand from a short distance and watch as he plays with the crudely-drawn cards. it's a game he's never seen before in his life, which intrigues him more than anything else.

after a few more moments of watching the other man grovel and pout over his tainted deck, he will eventually step forward and sit down in a chair on the other side of the table. Akira is smiling like always, even if his face is still healing from the trial. ]

Is this what that profile meant when it said "competitive gaming", Kaiba-san? I would have expected something a little more... professionally made...

[ sorry, not sorry. ]

[ he's not really playing with the cards? More accurately, what Seto is doing lies more along the lines of taking apart his deck and putting it back together again - Duel Monsters isn't really a game you can play without an opponent, anyway, but having his Deck close by has always had an effect on him. His cards have been with him since his childhood, been his closest compatriots, his weapons in battle.

So understandably, to have them defaced in such a manner, yeah, Seto is still upset. Especially so when he flicks out one of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon cards from his deck, the crudely drawn image a poor representation of its beauty and strength.

At the risk of sounding overly dramatic (hahahahahahha when are you not), the avatar of his very soul does not deserve such desecration. ]

The cards I use are infinitely more professional than these. Something about thinking of the safety of the guests and staff, according to Craftly's bullshit.

[ He's going to scowl and then draw out another card and flip it over - Trap Card: Crush Card Virus - if Akira can read the card text and the flavour text upside down, that is. ]

Former World Champion. [ ha. thanks, Yugi Mutou. He's still Bitter. He's going to draw out another card and lay it next to the two cards already laid out. Magic Card: Fusion.

If you ask him nicely he might explain the rules of the game. ]

[ listen, Akira was watching him play with the cards, not play the actual game. there's a different. up until the point where Akira sat down across from Kaiba, it was oddly entertaining to watch him pick apart his cards almost meticulously. even if they're hand-drawn and just... sad, he seems to treat them with the utmost level of care. how kawaii. ]

Oh. I was just thinking that you were somehow able to draw them from memory. [ why are you so rude, Craftly. :( ] It's a shame he wouldn't provide you with the real thing... I'm interested to see how the legitimate cards would look.

[ Akira tilts his head to the side to try and read the second card he places down. that's waaaay too much text for him to read, however, so he just pretends it makes sense and nods like he understands it all the same. ]

Former because they take your title away if you disappear mysteriously, I take it? [ HAHA IF ONLY. ] These cards seem intricate, even if they aren't the quality they should be. Is it easy to learn?
