SURVIVORS: 40 The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Storage room has unlocked itself overnight. How quaint. Welcome to Week 2's mingle, everyone! As of this week, we are now accepting murder proposals. [ the constant whispering has gotten worse by the middle of the week and Akira's hopeful enough to assume headache medication may be enough to dull the voices in his head. after scrounging about in the inn for a little while and finding no success, he's made the trip out to the broken down clinic to stock up on drugs that may help him and anyone else dealing with similar symptoms.

he had not, however, expected to find someone else there already. a glance makes him realize that it's Akane, and she seems to be. uh. dealing with stuff. a worried look is on his face as he steps forward, extending an arm out towards her. ]

Akane-san? Is there something I might be able to help you find?

[She is. Definitely dealing with some stuff.

The second she feels his presence, she whirls around, raising her scratched arms to cover herself.]

Don't- please don't look at me!

[It's possible she didn't even hear the question.]

[frizziest]

[ woah. that's not the reaction he was expecting. she flails about at his voice and Akira recoils in return, taking a step back to ensure she doesn't feel like he is invading her personal bubble. Akane tells him not to look at her and he looks off towards the ceiling to honor her request. ]

O-okay. I'm not looking, Akane-san. Take a moment to relax, please.

[ maybe she thinks he's a cat for a change? probably not, unless she has a paralyzing fear of felines. ]

[Even when he's not looking, she keeps her arms up, shaking a little.]

I'm sorry, I just... I don't want people seeing me like this.

[Especially people she doesn't know very well. She's all about giving a good impression, and hideous holes all over her skin aren't very conducive to that.

Not that anyone but her can see said holes, but you know. Details.]

[ okaaaay, he can't help but look back towards Akane when he notices that she has decided to not move even now. when she brings up how she doesn't want to be seen, he takes another step forward to get closer. ]

But... you seem to be okay? Physically, I mean. Clearly stressed, but otherwise, I think you look just fine.

[ he would make mention that she is still attractive, but now is not the time to try and be smooth. she seems unstable, to say the least. ]

[She looks at her arms, then gestures at them to show how obviously not okay she is.]

Does this look fine to you? Or...

[She frowns in realisation.]

Maybe it really doesn't look as bad as it feels...

[frizziest]

[ ho boy, that's a defensive tone if he's ever heard one. that step he took forward is immediately retracted as he steps back. ]

Yes? Your arms seem normal to me. Akane-san... have you been sleeping well? I know it's been pretty chaotic as of late, but―

[ he's concerned. :(!! someone tell him what to do to help her out right now. ]
