SURVIVORS: 40 The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors. The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel. And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Storage room has unlocked itself overnight. How quaint. Welcome to Week 2's mingle, everyone! As of this week, we are now accepting murder proposals. No; if I cared about how people viewed my looks I would have shifted to white cleric robes a long time ago.

It's just...unexpected, considering our situation. That something like this would be put up.

[perceptions]

...I just want us to have a little fun. After everything that happened this weekend, I think we should have a few jokes. Some laughs.

[A pause.]

Was this wrong to do?

[ He'll take pause and shake his head. ]

I didn't mean to insinuate it was wrong. I suppose it's just been a little-- I wasn't thinking.

[ Granted, it's a little hard for him to--but still he doesn't want to ruin someone's harmless fun. ]

I hope you and others are able to find this fun, then.

No, seriously, it's alright. I'm not always the best judge of these things, and I want to learn to improve myself. I just thought it might be fun to liven things up a little.

I have an extra copy of this list. I'm going to put it on a certain person's door specially for them. I think they won't appreciate it very much.

By 'certain person', do you mean L'arachel?

Yeah. She was being so damn over the top about us conducting that body search. I want to poke some fun at her about it.

[She taps to L'arachel's name on the chart for emphasis. She's the only one with a 0.]

[ ... Knoll appears to be thinking about something for a moment. ]

Alright. I'm sure that deep down, she may not mind it too much. It could prove to be a good distraction from whatever is going on...

...She will just probably yell at you for a long while, if you're prepared for that.

[perceptions]

Yeah I'm prepared. She just has to get used to it, y'know? Body searching people with incidents like these are important. I don't want her blowing a gasket every time.

[see, she's doing a public service!]

It is a little hard to say if she will ever stop, er- 'blowing a gasket' when body searching occurs.

[ It is a tad bit scandalous...but he does agree. ]

But, I'm sure everyone will appreciate that you're trying your best to help her become familiar with the process.

[perceptions]

Hey, I'm a helper. [of a sort...] You know what. I think I misjudged you.

[She turns to the list and takes out her marker, scribbling in an additional star for him.]

[ ... of all the things, he didn't expect that. ]

Oh... Thank you.

[perceptions]

Now ditch the robes and I might raise you up another point.

... No, that's alright. I'm fine with being a 6.

[perceptions]

[She shrugs.]

Suit yourself. Can't blame a girl for trying to help you reach your potential.
