( MINGLE - WEEK 2 )

SURVIVORS: 40

The sun is shining, the air conditioner units hum as they always do, and a gentle morning breeze blows against the windows. The scent of pine cones and evergreen follow you wherever you go in the motel, save for the parking lot and outdoor pool. It seems like someone was very generous with the detergent while moping the floors.

The two grandfather clocks (one on each floor) will ring with each passing hour, indicating the time of day without fail. With this knowledge — they'll note the motel will continue to be surrounded by fog until 8:00 AM on the dot. It is at that hour that the fog will begin to recede. Not enough to reveal the whole city, but enough to allow residents to explore some of the buildings surrounding the motel.

And speaking of the motel, it seems like the Storage room has unlocked itself overnight. How quaint.

Welcome to Week 2's mingle, everyone! As of this week, we are now accepting murder proposals. If you're interested in having your character murder someone this week, please send in your proposal before Tuesday, 9:00 PM EST. We'll be contacting you on plurk over the week to finalize the details, or ask for rescheduling if necessary.

As always, feel free to PM us or send us a PP over plurk if you have any questions!

[ is also standing next to the bar, may or may not be glancing over at Jay reproducing the symbol in his notebook. ]

Think this was left behind by the Ghost?
ninjay: (got no faith.)

That's the implication, unless someone wants to be dramatic just for the sake of it.

[ which is rude? they already fucked up, let them live. ]

If it is the Ghost though, I wonder why they did this.
crushcard: (you can’t use wings that you broke)

[ apparently game mechanics (tm) dictate that no one's going to let them all live, rip. ]

Too much effort for something just to be dramatic.

[ A shrug, and he's frowning as he's deadeyeing the the message again. ]

Letting us know that there's some higher order playing with all of us? [ He wouldn't be surprised, at this rate. ] Your guess is as good as mine.
ninjay: (i am fertilized.)

If anything, it just adds another puzzle to solve.

[ he's frowning at the message still though. ]

I wonder if it's worded that way just to fit the rhyme scheme or if there's any meaning behind the emphasis that she had to die.
crushcard: (even if we get pulled around)

[personal profile] crushcard 2017-05-29 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Hn. The writer was probably not in their right mind, based on how the message was written - it's debatable on whether the rhyming scheme was because of that or whether it was formulated by whatever instigated this... madness of a sort.

[ so much frowning all around. ]

The rulebook did say that one death had to occur a week. [ guess who's memorised most of the rulebook??? ] This probably implies that she was singled out somehow.
ninjay: (i'm i'm staying alive.)

Why? Was it specifically because of her role as the Spy, or maybe it was just because her role gave her a weapon in general? If it's the latter, then that implies literally any of the weapon roles could have been chosen and she was just unlucky enough to be the one picked.

[ he's going to let out a frustrated sigh. ]

There's not enough evidence to make any concrete conclusions besides speculation on our parts.

I'm more inclined to think that it's because of her role as the Spy just based on how the message is worded, but then that leaves the question of how arbitrarily the roles were chosen, if at all.
ninjay: (my white flag willingly.)

It's still so... odd though. You'd think if they had access to finding out what roles are, they'd go for one that carries more weight than just a piano wire and take them out.

[ hm. ]

It'll be easier if we knew what instructions were given to the Ghost on how their role works, but I doubt they're going to speak up. Or... if whoever this mother person is a role, how theirs works. If it even is a role or someone else entirely.
