( INVESTIGATION - WEEK 2 )

Promptly at 8:00 AM, both of the Grandfather clocks will begin to ring, the sound traveling to every corner of the motel. All residents will wake up as if it was any other morning. There's the usual hum from the air conditioner units and the sound of harsh wind blowing against the windows. While the sun may not have ever set, the amount of times the Grandfather clock rings makes it clear: it's time to get up and greet the brand new day. However... something seems off. Maybe it's a shiver of cold leaving a trail of frost on your skin or a burning sensation in your chest — but it feels like something is drawing you out of your room and into the outdoor hallways. Where will you go? Welcome to the investigation log! Please put the name of the location your character will be exploring in the subject header. [says yukina, with blood all over her clothing, because she was not at all careful while examining the body]

Kaito-san and I found her in the lounge...

There was blood all over the lounge, too. It probably came from her neck when she was stabbed.

It looked like... whatever she was stabbed with had three prongs. [Yukina holds up a fingertip to her neck to indicate distance.] Each of the marks on her neck was about this far apart... but you all will be able to see that for yourselves tomorrow, I think.

Are the two of you unharmed?

Yes. [She looks down at her feet.] It was just... very messy... in there.

[A natural consequence of murder.]

Was she near that... symbol that showed up at the beginning of the week?

[thawedheart]

She was by a barstool near the... wine cooler? [Her brow furrows.] The symbol was on the bar... so she wasn't too far away from it.

You don't think we can be dealing with the ghost again, do you?

—Maybe that's why she was killed? Because of that announcement she made about revealing them earlier in the week?

...I think it's likely.

[Because why else would Omega turn up dead, honestly? ...well, there might be other reasons.]

But I don't want to get too stuck on one theory before I see all the evidence... so we can explore those suspicions tomorrow, when everything's in front of us.

[wristbands]

Yeah, you're right...

[she gets a little overzealous sometimes. but with that matter out of the way, she turns her attention to yukina herself, and... well.]

... You should probably go get washed up.

[thawedheart]

[She glances down at her clothes and makes a face.]

...ah... you're right. I'll... see you later, then? [She looks concerned.] ...if you want to talk or anything, you can come find me... but I'll for sure see you tomorrow.

[wristbands]

Yeah, for sure—and same goes for me.

[she pauses, then, before yukina leaves,]

Thanks for... taking care of some of the dirty work.

[Yukina pauses too, and then manages something that's almost like a smile.]

...you're welcome. I'm just glad that none of the really young ones had to see... that.

[Because that was horrifying. A nod, and then - ]

Please excuse me, Chie-san.

[aaaand she's out to go clean up the blood!]

That... doesn't quite sound like any weapon I'm aware of but I'm assuming we'll find out the specifics tomorrow

...most likely. Being able to look at the menu again might help us figure it out too... I can't remember what all of the weapons were right now. Maybe one of them...?

[She shakes her head.]

We should probably all take tonight to think about it, though... before we get too set on any theories. We'll have time for that tomorrow.

I'd like to see the evidence before making conclusions, myself.
