( INVESTIGATION - WEEK 2 )

Promptly at 8:00 AM, both of the Grandfather clocks will begin to ring, the sound traveling to every corner of the motel. All residents will wake up as if it was any other morning. There's the usual hum from the air conditioner units and the sound of harsh wind blowing against the windows. While the sun may not have ever set, the amount of times the Grandfather clock rings makes it clear: it's time to get up and greet the brand new day. However... something seems off. Maybe it's a shiver of cold leaving a trail of frost on your skin or a burning sensation in your chest — but it feels like something is drawing you out of your room and into the outdoor hallways. Violet is able to see that a bottle of hydrogen peroxide is gone from the row.

Dave is good with scalpels because he can recall there is one less than when he last came across them. ]

Hydrogen peroxide is missing. I believe it can be used to disinfect wounds? Not for murder, I don't... think.

[ There are 3 scalpels left! Dave can swipe them all. EVERYONE ELSE HAS AT THIS POINT.

Not in such a small dosage. Even in larger ones, it's mostly just injuries.

[ violet also stores her scalpel on her purpose (in her skirt pocket). ]

So, someone was injured. That's not hard to believe.

[ he shrugs and hops up to sit on one of the clinic beds. apparently he is done investigating. ]

These aren't really "serious" injuries.

If those aren't serious injuries, I'd hate to see what qualifies? They're not exactly minor scrapes.

Eh. I've had to make do with either hand entirely broken before. And even those aren't serious. They'll heal, and I can still do shit with 'em.

I would think broken anything is serious? Broken hands especially?

It was just trainin'. If I hadn't gotten it, I'd be more worried and less useful about this right now, you know?

It really blows what you've had to deal with. From what you've said, you must really miss your sibs, huh?

That doesn't sound like good training, I don't think. But... I suppose that's true. I know I wouldn't be able to deal with such injuries as calmly as you have.

I do, terribly. But I'd rather they be safe at the academy we were left at than here. I wish there was some way to know what's going on at home, though.

I asked for a picture of my sister earlier. If you fill out a request card, maybe they'll give you a picture of your siblings?

I hadn't thought of that. Thanks, I'll give it a try.
