( INVESTIGATION - WEEK 2 )

Promptly at 8:00 AM, both of the Grandfather clocks will begin to ring, the sound traveling to every corner of the motel. All residents will wake up as if it was any other morning. There's the usual hum from the air conditioner units and the sound of harsh wind blowing against the windows. While the sun may not have ever set, the amount of times the Grandfather clock rings makes it clear: it's time to get up and greet the brand new day. However... something seems off. Maybe it's a shiver of cold leaving a trail of frost on your skin or a burning sensation in your chest — but it feels like something is drawing you out of your room and into the outdoor hallways. Where will you go? Welcome to the investigation log! Please put the name of the location your character will be exploring in the subject header. [ With the tipped over shelves, it's hard to navigate. Jay probably almost trips on a can of oodles and noodles. But, Chie's able to see something hanging off the corner of a shelf: a strand of short, dark hair.

Knoll's able to look at the items. Poor old perishables and such thrown askew. If Knoll kicks the items around, he'll see some of them are smeared with blood from impact with the bloody floor. :O ]

Have either of you found anything?

[ he says, after almost dying via noodles ]

[ Wait, what? The floor is bloody?

... How much blood on the floor are we talking about here? ]

It appears some food had been knocked over.

[chie gives a very long, a very drawn out,]

Um.

[can she get over to the shelf to retrieve the strand?]

[ Chie is able to snag the black strand of hair. Eventually, a staff member will come and yank it away from her (when she gets back to the motel) for evidence.

And look, that's not ketchup, Knoll!!! There's a moderate size - a few sprays of blood and droplets.

Will Jay go forth further into the grocery store? ]

[ninjay]

[ jay will, indeed. he'll aim to go straight to the back where the cold room is, unless there's like?? something in the way that might stop him i guess. ]

I'm checking the back.

[rextenebrae]

Alright, we will likely be here.

[ Pause. He'll look at the blood drops and the small spray but then sort of inch away from it because he's not touching anything bloody if he doesn't have to. At least not for now. ]

... Chie, did you find anything important?

[wristbands]

I, um... found someone's hair... that's it, though.

[she holds it at a distance as she retrieves it, then quickly shoves it in her pocket. for safekeeping. obviously. she'll go over to knoll, and recoils a little as she sees the blood.]

What the hell happened here...?

[ There's nothing in the cold room!

It looks like y'all did the good thing and found some clues. GOOD JOB. ]

[ninjay]

[ in that case, jay will return back to where the others are after he clears the rest of the back. ]

There's nothing else suspicious here. I wonder who got into a fight.

It appears to have been some sort of conflict.

[ His answer to Chie-- and then as Jay walks out... ]

... It is a good question. Though, I hope figuring it out won't be too complex since there was a hair found.

Must've been one hell of a fight.

[looking up, she's at least relieved to see jay safe. and that they, y'know. didn't have to find a fresh body.]

I have the hair, 'cause that's probably gonna be evidence tomorrow... should we take the stuff with blood on them back with us, too?

[ninjay]

We might as well... unless the staff decides to clean after us.

We should see what the others found. If someone got injured then...
