( INVESTIGATION - WEEK 1 )

Promptly at 8:00 AM, both of the Grandfather clocks will begin to ring, the sound traveling to every corner of the motel. All residents will wake up as if it was any other morning. There's the usual hum from the air conditioner units and the sound of harsh wind blowing against the windows. While the sun may not have ever set, the amount of times the Grandfather clock rings makes it clear: it's time to get up and greet the brand new day. However... something seems off. Maybe it's a shiver of cold leaving a trail of frost on your skin or a burning sensation in your chest — but it feels like something is drawing you out of your room and into the outdoor hallways. Where will you go? Welcome to the investigation log! Please put the name of the location your character will be exploring in the subject header. If you plan on grouping up with someone else for a location, we ask that you keep it to 2-3 characters maximum. I think we should look, but that might not be the way to bring him justice?

... What do you mean? How is letting them get away with it 'justice?'

It's not "getting away with it"! It's like, hmmmm... when you cut a flower, and you go snippity snip on the stem!

Yeah, I hope so.

It won't be hope. There's no way — not after everyone's gunning for 'em!

Hey. [ There's a slow pat on Clem's shoulder??? ] It'll be okay. I don't think we talked much when we arrived. I'm Hana — it's tough, I know, but we all have to kinda deal with the punches that are thrown our way.

I just kind of - expected the punches to come from the host. At least at first.

He seemed weird about his duty and unable to say much. Maybe he's not capable of it...? I just... [ She looks down. ] It's a nightmare to know someone actually did it.

I thought we would at least go one week and see what happens if we all refuse, but... Guess not.

Like—what I wanna know is what was their incentive? Because it talks about that in the stupid rulebook. What could possibly get someone to kill another innocent person?
