( INVESTIGATION - WEEK 1 )

Promptly at 8:00 AM, both of the Grandfather clocks will begin to ring, the sound traveling to every corner of the motel. All residents will wake up as if it was any other morning. There's the usual hum from the air conditioner units and the sound of harsh wind blowing against the windows. While the sun may not have ever set, the amount of times the Grandfather clock rings makes it clear: it's time to get up and greet the brand new day. However... something seems off. Maybe it's a shiver of cold leaving a trail of frost on your skin or a burning sensation in your chest — but it feels like something is drawing you out of your room and into the outdoor hallways. Where will you go? Welcome to the investigation log! Please put the name of the location your character will be exploring in the subject header. If you plan on grouping up with someone else for a location, we ask that you keep it to 2-3 characters maximum. It's not so bad. Maybe Dirk had the right idea? It's kind of spine-tingly but...

[ She audibly sniffs. ] No blood, at least.

[Nothing wrong with the Dark Room.

More than usual, anyway. The longer they stay in there, the worst the feeling of being watched becomes.]

Yeah. So? It's dark in here, I'm not going to see it on the floor so easily.

[her eyes are darting left and right, her grimace is growing]

I seriously don't think we should be here...

Obviously they don't want us to be here, but-- [he stops himself and sighs] Well if there's nothing different and no one can...smell [????]... any blood, today's not the day we're going to figure it out.

Yeah, let's mosey. I have a feeling this room wants us out, but maybe not for the reasons you'd usually think.

[she's more than happy to lead the way back out.]

Was it me, or did it seem like... different than just a normal dark room? I mean, if you had to hide a body in a place where it wouldn't be found easily...

It feels like something is watching you when you're in there, right? Not to mention the rules that say the dark room is what cannibalism is for. It's gotta be some sort of-- portal for a nightmare realm monster.

[ Using humor to deflect how haha someone's probably dead. Yikes. ]

[ To Dipper: ] Cannibalism? You're right, it did say that... maybe they'll elucidate on that.

[she's a little flustered at that, but she just shrugs it off; more important things to discuss right now than acknowledge a kind of tasteless joke]

Faceless dudes, an innkeeper with tentacles, killing games, and now cannibal nightmare monsters... whoever put this all together really is serious about it, aren't they?

The cannibalism is probably that they're going to eat us. Or make us eat people.

Of course they're serious! You don't just kidnap forty something people and place them in a horror motel for fun.
