( INVESTIGATION - WEEK 1 )

Promptly at 8:00 AM, both of the Grandfather clocks will begin to ring, the sound traveling to every corner of the motel. All residents will wake up as if it was any other morning. There's the usual hum from the air conditioner units and the sound of harsh wind blowing against the windows. While the sun may not have ever set, the amount of times the Grandfather clock rings makes it clear: it's time to get up and greet the brand new day. However... something seems off. Maybe it's a shiver of cold leaving a trail of frost on your skin or a burning sensation in your chest — but it feels like something is drawing you out of your room and into the outdoor hallways. Where will you go? Welcome to the investigation log! Please put the name of the location your character will be exploring in the subject header. [ The uneasy atmosphere of the motel was too much for Ryou, and while he did feel compelled to leave his room like everyone else, he's also scared of what he might find. Still... he doesn't wander too far and goes to the pool. Hopefully the water isn't gross anymore. ]

[ this was all enough to get a girl stir crazy, so heather decided to venture outside to get some air because she didn't want any part of murder time. hopefully the water is still blue.

Oh, yeah. It's a little stuffy in the rooms... Though the pool smell doesn't really help either.

Chlorine makes for a totally solid fragrance.

[ except not. better than the smell of gore and ichor though. that was for sure. ]

I guess everything's okay out here.. Today, at least.

It'd be nice if it could stay that way. Even if the water is kind of weird.

[ He edges closer to get a better look... it is pretty nasty, but it doesn't look dangerous?? ]

[Mira will be coming to the area at the same time, still a little tired but wanting to spend the morning at the poolside.]

[ Mira this kid is a pale as a ghost. Don't tease him. ]

I'd burn first. I just want to be outside.

Guess it isn't exactly swimsuit season. [She shrugs.] Any reason you wanna be outside?

[ He shrugs. ] I felt like it. The room was starting to feel restrictive... Plus, it's kind of nice out here.

[ Aside from the nasty water but okey ]

Are you out here to tan?

[perceptions]

Well not tan, but just laze around. I room with a little kid, Saya, so I don't want to be in there with her.

Don't you think she'd like to laze around too?

[perceptions]

Well now she gets a whole room to do that in. So long as she doesn't touch my things.

[Mira doesn't even have things, it's just a matter of principle.]

So you're a person who likes privacy? [ He's not too certain about this, but he's not sure how else to go about it. ]

Do I need to go?

Oh, no, you can stay. It's a free... country? Or maybe motel.

Haha-- [ The laughter is nervous and forced. ] I wouldn't really call it that... or else we'd be able to leave.

True. Guess the only way out is a way no one really wants to take.

[Nothing wrong with the pool, besides the fact the water's turned a gross, murky color. Yuck.]
